As it turns out, Samari Curtis is far from being the first Ohio Mr. Basketball to show up in the MAC.

According to the wiki linked above, it has happened one other time. The 2020 Mr. B went to Kent.

Samari was the 2019 Mr. B - so you could argue in a weird way that he is the 1st Mr. B to sign with the MAC.

Ohio Mr. B that is.

Either way, having it happen one other time during the same time frame as Samari is pretty exclusive. I don't think that qualifies as "far from" the only one.

Chester Mason ('00 from Cleveland South) played at Miami and Sonny Johnson ('98 from Garfield Heights) was briefly at Ohio before transferring to Cleveland State.
