Re: Coaching carousel
There is a really great article on Clawson on ESPN this morning, by the way. Take some time to read it if you're able to. We were extremely lucky to have him here for as long as we did. https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... ake-forest

Re: Coaching carousel
He is missed here, and it was great to see him come back for the fundraiser they held a few years ago. He obviously doesn't forget where he came from. The 2013 MAC Championship is up there as one of my favorite Falcon football moments of the last 15 years.BillyLP wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 10:05 am There is a really great article on Clawson on ESPN this morning, by the way. Re: Coaching carousel
The man who hired Mike Jinks hasn't worked for a college athletics department in more than five years. I'd be shocked if he ever does again.
What would you suggest? A citizens arrest of Chris Kingston?
You keep trying to imply Bob Moosbrugger had something to do with it. He did not.

Moosbrugger is guilty by association with Kit Hughes in his eyes.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 3:40 pmThe man who hired Mike Jinks hasn't worked for a college athletics department in more than five years. I'd be shocked if he ever does again.

Another hire with no head coach or coordinator experience at collegiate level. See how he does.

"McGuire, a successful longtime Texas high school coach, is in his fifth season at Baylor and his third as the team's associate head coach".

His HS record was 141-42. Won 3 state titles and 1 runner up. Wonder what Jinks record was in HS?bgsumepley wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:00 am ESPN on TTU New HC, Ive seen this somewhere before........

Re: Coaching carousel
Looks like Jinks was 76–18. 1 state title and 2 runner ups. Jinks was also at TTU only 3 seasons before BG hired him.

Re: Coaching carousel
Jinks was transplanted to Ohio from Texas...like an alien species...think Zebra Mussel...he set about destroying his new environment. A guy with a longer track record in Texas might be OK down there

McGuire is really respected in Texas. He'll be fine.

Re: Coaching carousel
He will recruit well but program management is the concern. He will go as far as his staff will let him.
Something of note is he's coming in at a lucky time. Trade Texas and Oklahoma for AAC teams. Big 12 is getting easier.

Digging around for realignment news, saw FIU more than likely will not renew Butch Davis contract. Their AD stepped down earlier today as well. I believe Pete Garcia old FIU AD and Butch go way back to Miami Hurricane days.
