It's true, though. Toledo was bigger and stronger. They completely whipped the Falcons physically tonight.
We got weaker after beating Minnesota.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

You get your ass whipped when you don’t believe in what you are doing. It is not necessarily getting out muscled. He’s lost most of the locker room.

I know most of the team is technically freshman but they were at least around last year if not 2019. Weight room issues should be improved by this point

I take no joy in saying that.
We can't acknowledge truths around here. We must find a scapegoat or two and put the totality of everything on them alone. We can't admit that winning in the sport of football requires physically developed veteran players, something of which we're in short supply of at the moment. We can't admit that becoming a better team by flipping the roster requires, I don't know, actually flipping the roster. Better to gossip. Better to undermine. Better to advance grudges.

It's consensus opinion that Jinks was a historically atrocious coach but somehow everything will be magically fixed in 2.5 years by sprinkling pixie dust, not by systematically obtaining and developing a competitive roster.

It's excruciatingly painful in the short term but there is no other alternative. Anyone that has ever played the sport of football knows you can't cheat the process. You can't scoff at acknowledging the role of the weight room in a sport entirely based on physicality. It basketball you can get 1 or 2 difference makers. 85 scholarship football is a different animal.

We need to get better, but in our justifiable disgust of losing can't lose sight of how that eventuality actually comes to fruition.

Correct and the way to get there is to do what the most of his previous employers did and Boston College was a year away from doing, and move on from Scot Loeffler.

Operations still not good looked unprepared tonight. Even on the away side lines to get in were very long, concessions long, and speaker was having issues during play in the second half which actually delayed the game for a few seconds at one point as it got so bad. Back to basketball and hockey
I don't understand why year in and year out the concessions are never improved. Slow and inefficient for decades...…thus this game I though I would sign up to eat pregame at Mileti. Food there was catered by BGSU Food Services. And the soup was cold as were the tater tots. Cold food has become one steadfast tradition at BG athletic events. :smt078

The notion that time fixes the strength issues is self serving nonsense from AD apologists. The fix is work...put in the work in the weight room.

Guys who are freshman but not true freshmen...if they haven't done the work, when will they?

Yeah, I'm tired of the excuses. They mentioned on the broadcast last night that BG has 3rd year freshmen on the roster due to redshirting and the free covid year. You're telling me a majority of these guys haven't developed the strength over that time to compete at the FBS level? Don't buy it.

Last night was embarrassing. I've never left a BG football game at halftime, let alone against Toledo. There needs to be some damn accountability from the coaches up to the AD for what happened last night, especially coming out of the bye. It's inexcusable. Had a great turnout last night and the place was 80% empty after the half.

I'll be turning my full attention to the hockey program for the rest of the football season, and debating on whether or not to keep my football season tickets.

From the you can’t make this up category. BG has lost 11 of 12 to Toledo and BGSU Football is at rock bottom.

Honestly it’s too bad Loeffler didn’t have to sit out the 1st half of yesterdays game. Would have been interesting to see how the team played.

Since we are on a gossip page, let’s not gossip. Maybe we should get some of that magic pixie dust from MSU? Or NIU?

The weight room doesn’t fix a crap offense. It doesn’t fix INABILITY TO ADJUST. It doesn’t fix leaving the same jackasses in that repeatedly, game after game, get unsportsmanlike penalty calls. Our O-line coach is a disaster, and is universally despised. Speaking of weights, Our strength coach is 75 years old, from the Franco Columbo school of thought. The guys that are beasts, go train on their own after to undo what they just did. This group blows, and they are not getting better….. buy more time, buy more time, get paid , they are weatherman: wrong 60% of the time and pop up somewhere else. It is time to move on. Does anyone really think we will have a great roster turnaround and win the MAC next year, as scheduled? I want some of that smoke!

Franco Colombu that is a name I have not heard in a long time...blew out his knee trying to compete in a strong man contest...

Definitely not the example we want to follow :)

Too many typical comments on here about Loeffler. To be honest I don't think we're "that bad" just lack a capable QB to be honest. What's maddening is the inconsistent play by this team, how you can roll over Minnesota & Buffalo yet get blown out by Toledo & Eastern Michigan is beyond me.

What's really bad about these guys is how poor we look at home. If the Buffalo/Minnesota games happened in Wood County I think people would be singing a very different tune. It's just tough when you're a super FCS team like MAC schools are, if a coach is good then they're gone in 3 years, if a coach is bad they're gone in 3 years. Continuity doesn't exist in this league anymore it seems, and it has led to some terrible football

How many times was Toledo in our backfield with the snap? That seems like a scheme issue more than anything else...or maybe McDonald is easy to read on the snap count. You should not have DL on the QB as soon as he steps back. Sure...our OL seems ill prepared...but guys in the backfield that fast....that seems like something...else
