Jake and I had enough after 3 quarters...I am so tired of watching this movie. 1-10 vs tsun the last 11 years. Seems the last 5-6 years our players like to trash talk while tsun just plays their game. They expect to win, we hope to win. It is what it is and I don't have the answer.

Mark, unfortunately they did. When it hit 28-10, I looked at Jake and said this one is over. Body language is everything.

Re: vs. Toledo (11/10)
I got a laugh last night on the field goal drive in the second quarter. BG calls timeout to discuss what they want to do, and the play following we had two receivers standing still at the line of scrimmage not knowing what's going on as McDonald basically had to go to the turf to save himself from getting run over.Flipper wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 9:14 am How many times was Toledo in our backfield with the snap? That seems like a scheme issue more than anything else...or maybe McDonald is easy to read on the snap count. You should not have DL on the QB as soon as he steps back. Sure...our OL seems ill prepared...but guys in the backfield that fast....that seems like something...else
That type of thing is a big sign to me that there's a disconnect somewhere within the players and coaches. Well coached teams don't encounter those types of mistakes 10 games into the season. That drives me absolutely crazy.
The Buffalo win looks less impressive after they were taken to the woodshed by a mediocre Miami team on Tuesday night. The Minnesota game has turned out to be a massive anomaly where the Gophers practically beat themselves.
The program had the opportunity to seize on that Minnesota game and has produced only one win since it, and we've seen massive regressions in all phases of the game.

I know Melton only played for a drive or two, but to be frank, I didn't really like what I saw. I know he's a freshman, but he had happy feet, he overlooked defenders, and his ball didn't have a ton of zip on it. He looked like an FCS QB to me.

Re: vs. Toledo (11/10)
We just got whipped last night and I don't know that different play calling would have made a difference. Loeffler basically said that after the game, and I find it difficult to argue.
That's not the schedule. This is the schedule, per the Sentinel-Tribune this past summer:Does anyone really think we will have a great roster turnaround and win the MAC next year, as scheduled? I want some of that smoke!
As painful as last night was to watch, I think the team remains on schedule. For now.Loeffler said this year, in year three, he wants to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This year should show some positive signs towards being a competitive team.
In year four, the team should be competitive. In year five, the Falcons should win the MAC, he said.
Re: vs. Toledo (11/10)
I would love to see us try a different qb to see if that changes anything on offense but I'm afraid mcdonald will be the qb for the next 14 games. Other qbs need to be getting game experience especially in a blowout. I'm not at practice but keller had some fantastic accolades while at whitmer high school in toledo. I would like someone like him to play these next 2 games but I'll take any other qb on our roster to see what else we have
Re: vs. Toledo (11/10)
The program remains on Scot’s schedule to get him and a bunch of people who will be out the sport paid. Right on schedule.

Year four on the self-serving milk this puppy for five years schedule is mediocrity...this program is so far from mediocre it couldn't find it with google maps. And that's HIS timeline...personally...I think we should have a hell of a lot more to show for three years of work than a fluke win, an FCS win and a conference win that was achieved with our HC chilling in the parking lot because he...like his players...like to run his mouth at the officials

Melton is not the answer intangible or tangibly. Keller is not the answer. Labronz may have been the answer, IMHO, in a better scheme and with a better staff…..
They BETTER get a QB answer this off-season. Imagine if McDonald goes down next summer or early?!? How many more years will we have to wait?
I’d like someone to explain how we hung with Tennessee’s big fronts, beat Minnesota, hung with KSU, should have beat S. Alabama, beat UB….. then every player suddenly turned into George McFly incarnate against Toledo?!? Is that really what happened? We suddenly became unable to bench press our weight?!?
I’m not buying that manure. It’s scheme and adjustments.

Keller not being the answer doesn't surprise me...I worked at the museum with an older guy who played at UT and has some local connections. He sad two years ago that Keller should just move to LB now and be done with it

Wait, so Bowling Green doesn't even have a legit D1 quarterback in the program? Who would have guessed that? So, the QB guru can't develop or recruit a qb, just like the offensive guru can't score points.

We have a couple of guys hand picked by the QB whisperer, who can’t throw a 5 yard out in practice.
I don’t intend to pile on a kid, but this is to inform those looking to change McDonald that he really is the only option, since they won’t use Labronz to his skill set …. And, to illustrate our QB guru sucks at it. It’s really both disappointing and shocking. Most every team we played trucked out a #2 that looked very good…..

Not surprised. 2020 told you they had no quarterback room. He trotted McDonald out hurt to slaughter for 5 games. It's easier to tell people the future looks bright, if you hide that the future can't actually play.

The Gibson kid at Akron who torched BG after Nelson got hurt certainly has the look of a good QB.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 12:26 pm We have a couple of guys hand picked by the QB whisperer, who can’t throw a 5 yard out in practice.

Melton probably has the physical tools but watching him yesterday in his limited action, looks like mentally he's got some work to do.
