Justin Fuente is out at Virginia Tech. It is shocking to me that he didn't work out there - he hit it big both on offense and defense one state over at Memphis and recruited the same area. It all on paper should have worked.

I've read an opinion piece that Virginia Tech should go after Dave Clawson. Not sure how likely he is to leave Wake, and it would be a real embarrassment for VT to get rejected in favor of a small private school in the same conference.

I think people underestimate how much money Clawson makes at Wake. I think it would take the likes of USC or LSU for him to depart this off-season, and out of those jobs I could really only see him leaving for USC. Private school expecting a rebuild. That’s his bread and butter.

Assuming Harbaugh departs Michigan...Clawson would be a great fit at Michigan...but why jump into that mess when you're basically contracted for the rest of your career at Wake?

I take it with an appropriately sized grain of salt. Supposedly LSU is offering Lincoln Riley a huge offer. Weird since he'll be coaching in the SEC soon, for a program that has seen far more playoff bids and is a generally better recognized brand.

Grain of salt. My best guess is the next coach will either be Dave Aranada or Mel Tucker.
