Happy to end the season on a positive note. Big time offseason ahead. Team could have easily won 2-3 more games this year.

Good to see them close it out with a home W. Lots of improvement needed in a number of areas...huge offseason coming up for the program

This team was projected to be, by many, the worst in FBS! Congratulations to Coach Loeffler and the players for proving everyone wrong and making huge strides in 2021! There is a lot of work to do, but with 32 of the 44 two-deep as Fr and So. this team made big steps forward!

Good to go out with a win. Hopefully we can keep making progress in the offseason.

That’s a good way to end the season, so credit to the team and staff for coming together to close the season that way. A few bounces here and there and this team may have been bowling. Lots of positives to take from this year, even if it had some low points.
Re: Ohio U Gameday
Loeffler said after the game that Matt McDonald played the whole season with a broken hand. Putting 2 and 2 together, it now makes some sense that he wore that glove all year, and that he himself had a cast-looking thing in his presser after the game today.
For all the crap he gets, he’s a really tough, scrappy kid. Glad he’s our QB.

That was quite the surprise, wasn’t it? The kid has a lot of heart. Scrappy win today.mbenecke wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 9:34 pm Loeffler said after the game that Matt McDonald played the whole season with a broken hand. Half dozen QB's on the roster and none of them are good enough to take over for the erratic guy with a broken hand?

If the offensive line play improves, it will be interesting to see if McDonald or anyone else can take advantage of that opportunity to take their gameplay up a couple of notches.
(John Gibson made that observation about McDonald last night after that game. It makes sense to me.)

Have to get a game ready QB, Kicker (our offensive MVP) , Punter, Long snapper, 6 O-lineman ( to cover those leaving and gone) and a few D-lineman. Thats a Tall task.

Re: Ohio U Gameday
I would argue our list is shorter than that. We need a punter and some linemen. We have enough quarterbacks, and they may be able to play with a line that is blocking for them. We have a kicker that does our kickoffs that should be able to also handle kicking. We have another long snapper on the roster as well.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 12:49 pm Have to get a game ready QB, Kicker (our offensive MVP) , Punter, Long snapper, 6 O-lineman ( to cover those leaving and gone) and a few D-lineman. We have slots to fill, but things aren’t as dire as you make them sound.

The CBS Sports Network team was saying only four Falcons will be completely out of eligibility after Black Friday.
Re: Ohio U Gameday
If you told me in the summer we would get 4 wins this season i would be happy with the season. I still have concerns if Loeffler is the guy but I at least saw some progress this year

Re: Ohio U Gameday
Mason Lawler can probably handle field goal kicking along with kickoff duties. There are also other punters on the roster besides Naranjo. We'll see what the staff decides to do, but you can probably PWO a couple of those positions.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 12:49 pm Have to get a game ready QB, Kicker (our offensive MVP) , Punter, Long snapper, 6 O-lineman ( to cover those leaving and gone) and a few D-lineman. They usually are PWO, then scholarship when they start.
