vs. Chicago State (11/28)
vs. Chicago State (11/28)
This afternoon, BG (2-4) will take on Chicago State (2-3) inside the Stroh Center. The game will begin at 2:00pm, and it’ll be broadcast on ESPN3.
Assuming Daeqwon Plowden plays today, and we have no reason to expect he won’t, he will break the all-time record for games played in this program, as this would be his 130th appearance in the orange and brown, breaking Demajeo Wiggins’ record of 129. Just wanted to take the time to point that - Plowden has long been a fan favorite, and deservedly so.
Let’s get a win today. Go Falcons!

At the first media timeout, BG leads 6-2.
Solid effort so far. Very little energy in the building, but that’s not abnormal for a Thanksgiving break game.

Gordon not on the bench tonight. Anyone know why?
Re: vs. Chicago State (11/28)
Anyone know why Gordon isn’t here today?
Re: vs. Chicago State (11/28)
In regards to Gordon, they mentioned on the broadcast that he isn’t available today. Didn’t go further into it.
BG up 17-7 with 7:12 to play in the first half.
Matiss is in the game!

If you're lucky maybe we'll get a quote about it in the postgame if they think to ask Huger. Otherwise we may never know why Gordon is not here. Hopefully nothing going on.
Not sure CSU has digested their turkey yet, they look abysmal. We aren't playing great, but Matheny has been good and we're up 10.
This team is Kaden matheny. I'm not convinced he's good enough to be the entire team, but with the way we play it's pretty clear. We rely on him as basically our only playmaker in the hopes plowden and Diggs will hit some shots around him. One thing I will say, he's still not a lockdown defender but Kaden has made great strides in getting his hands on the ball...he's not completely awful anymore (at least not against the meh competition we've played this far.

HALF: BGSU 28, Chicago State 15
Offense is still very stagnant and not very effective. But a solid defensive half with some really nice effort.
Bring it home, BG.

Man that was an ugly half of basketball culminating in a step back off glass 3 ball going in for CSU. 28-15 and as largely unwatchable as you'd expect a game to be with that sort of halftime score.
At least we're on the right side of it.

Nice easy cruise to the end win. CSU looked absolutely awful for 30 mins but played ok the final 10 and we never really let them make it a game.
Matheny didn't play much down the stretch either (really struggled after a good start), and we were able to continue playing well without him on the floor.
Still have a long way to go but looked a lot better in this one than some of our others this year.

Re: vs. Chicago State (11/28)
Ball movement resembled an offense at times. Matheny definitely makes them better but I would say there was movement away from the ball and ball reversal throughout the day with or without him.
Defense was more likely to help and force a 2nd, 3rd and sometime 4th pass in the lane. Make them work for scores and turnovers happen.
Foul shooting started very poorly and then went very well the rest of the game.
Make top 4 for season and get hot at the end is all that really matters in the quest to dance. Not there yet but improving

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
Re: vs. Chicago State (11/28)
I know Matiss only played a few minutes, but how did he look? Could he be a solid contributor once he builds up a bit?

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

No one asked Huger in the postgame presser, so who knows what the deal is.
GO BG!!!
