Man it would be nice if we could dribble.

Reece splits a pair of free throws and the game is tied at 70 with 1 minute left in regulation.

Chandler buried a three with 35 seconds left.
Then a REALLY soft foul on Fulcher sends Oakland to the line with 27 seconds to play.

Elsasser nearly called for a charge, but they call it a block.
He’s shooting free throws with 23 seconds left with BG up by 1.

And he missed the front end.
Ball goes out of bounds with 1.4 seconds left and Oakland calls timeout.
BG leads 73-72, but Oakland has a chance to win it.

On the inbounds (which actually came with 1.8 on the clock), Plowden tips the ball and it goes back out with 0.9 seconds left in regulation. They’re looking at it right now.

Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
Joe Reece is getting shoved around and the refs are giving him a hard time. What a joke.
Yeesh. Oakland got a wide open look at the rim before the buzzer and they missed it.
But we don’t apologize for wins! And that’s a great one!
FINAL: BG 73, Oakland 72
Turner drops in a career high 23, Plowden adds 16, and Fulcher with an under the radar 8 points/6 rebounds/5 assists stat line. Reece also dropped 9.

Yeah, I'm thrilled to get a win over a good Oakland team, but that guy blew an open layup at the buzzer.mbenecke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:02 am Joe Reece is getting shoved around and the refs are giving him a hard time. What a joke.

He did but that's what happens when you play good enough defense that they have to make an inbound play spot with under a second left. We beat a pretty good team while missing our primary guards, and it starting center sitting for most of the second half with 4 fouls.threestooges wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:16 amYeah, I'm thrilled to get a win over a good Oakland team, but that guy blew an open layup at the buzzer.mbenecke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:02 am Joe Reece is getting shoved around and the refs are giving him a hard time. Turner was awesome.
I hope our guards get back though. Not going to win many games with 20+ turnovers

Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
Mentioned Gordon was on the bench and he had no visible injury or braces. I'm wondering if him and Curtis are dealing with covid issues? It would explain why they're not on the bench when not playing. Maybe Gordon just cleared protocols today but hasn't practiced enough to play?
Turner was fantastic tonight and our depth all around is why we were able to steal this game. Considering how much he had to play and how unexpected it was i thought mills did a decent job. Reese and plowden did their jobs and everyone else filled in besides Diggs.
As mentioned pa only announced reese technical. Also number 3 for Oakland was yelling at our bench a few times including going into a timeout and it was completely ignored by the refs.
Great win tonight and the team continues to improve. Hopefully we can get everyone back before Akron and start putting everything together. I still think we look better without Gordon but the rest of the team has improved so he deserves a shot also. If Turner can play like that consistently though someone is going to lose minutes

Also a note after reese got his third foul huger let him stay in with a grin on his face. After he got his fourth huger said to his assistants "I should have taken him out." which is why he was so quick to pull plowden at 3 fouls

Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
Huger made the right call leaving Reece in with 3. In this particular game, he made the wrong call by putting in O'Neal instead of Kula. They had a great scouting report on O'Neal and made him a liability.
