Loeffler's rationale for losing makes no sense....losing a bunch of OL and then not replacing them does not build a foundation for anything but losing.
If he is better than Jinks....it ain't by much

Sometimes I wonder if he was guaranteed at least four years of his contract the way he talks about things...

He wasn't guaranteed anything, other than he read the room and understood he had a pillow soft AD in Bob Moosbrugger, and pillow soft fans like Schadenfraud and BillyLP aka drumsticks

I’m not sure what the deal is with Griffith. The fact he didn’t sign makes me concerned he’s not going to be coming, because we had offers to give. This kid was “THE” QB of the class if we got/get him. I mean yeah, when someone says “1000%” you’d like to think that means it’s a sure thing. But we’ve all seen and heard how that’s gone before. I know he had a lot of P5 offers, but I have yet to see him turn up signing elsewhere yet, so I’m not really sure what to make of it at this point. This current early signing period will end tomorrow for high school guys (JUCO’s will go another month) and then there’s a dead period. The traditional signing day is February 2, so there’s always a possibility he signs then too. But based on the fact he essentially said he was signing with BG and hasn’t, I’m having doubts at this point that he will. I hope I’m wrong because this kid would be a steal for BG to get.

This is my issue with his quote.

Let's take everything on the surface level. I want him to tell me HOW hitting the portal last year to win those 9 games is a long term negative? His roster was like 90% Freshman & Sophomores, so adding some upper class eligibility guys isn't going to negatively impact future classes. If anything it might actually make the future a bit cleaner by having some guys who exhaust their eligibility and free up scholarships. And I think every person that watched this team KNEW they needed some experienced upper classmen types, and we all knew that BEFORE last year's recruiting season. Hell HE realized it and brought in some defensive help, but he didn't seem to think that same thing held true on the OL?

This holds especially true if the plan (as he re-iterated over and over) was to go out and replace those younger kids NOW with transfers. MAYBE you could make a case that giving these kids a year of experience now will help things down the line, but not if your goal is to now go out and replace them.

It just doesn't make sense. I hope it works, but much like our hoops program it just feels like every year with these guys is a wasted season of our lives (and our players' development).

(And that really isn't fair to Huger, who is at least average. Loeffler has a LONG way to go to get to Huger's level)

Offer in for LS Macguire Moss from Batavia, IL. He had an official visit on October 23rd.

Maybe he's hoping they will just buy him out? He's guaranteed money either way.

In yesterday's press conference, Loeffler said (and I'm paraphrasing a bit here) that Moosbrugger and even the university president are in alignment that this is a long-term rebuild. I think what we are seeing here is confidence that Moosbrugger has his back.

Of course Moosbrugger is in on his long term rebuild. Moosbrugger doesn't have a spine.

I met him when we signed, and for some paperwork exchange. I was not impressed. The player personnel dude pre-Loeffler was also a real mess. Having met some guys in similar positions at bigger programs…. I just expected a sharper, alpha type person, that commands a room. First impression is all I have, but it was deflating.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Griffith has decommitted from BG. So much for “1000%.”

I get the feeling this was on BG more than Griffith. He committed before Bainbridge and Loeffler seemed really high on Owen after that. I would guess Griffith was essentially told to find a new school.
