Presumably he is one of the two guys that was mentioned yesterday.

Down side: played in two games in three years. Upside: practiced against big talent and gained about 45 lbs from when he walked in there. Big body. Let’s hope he will help!

Not surprised here. That's his home. I'm surprised we were even trying to recruit him here, to be honest.

Agreed on both sides. UC's offensive line is no joke. They'll compete in the Big 12 right away. I imagine their entire second string could start here.

I had a feeling he was going to pick UB over BG. If nothing else, I was hoping we'd land him to simply put a guy with some talent and some game experience behind McDonald to push him and have a more capable option if needed than what we have now. I still feel like we need to actively look for another QB in the portal. McDonald was much improved this past year and had his moments throughout an up-and-down year. But if he goes down, we're royally screwed right now. The performances of Davis and Melton in the past two years behind McDonald have been downright frightening when they've attempted a pass. It clearly appears we have no one not only pushing McDonald, but no one capable of stepping in if we were to lose him either. That's more than enough for me to continue looking in the portal if I'm a coach on this staff. McDonald is one tough SOB and I'm impressed with his toughness more than anything. I'd call him a serviceable QB for the most part. He has flashes of playing above that at times, but often it's mixed in with unfavorable stretches as well. That said, he's our best QB and our best option right now, and if we were to lose him, we must have someone who can step in and compete and not look like a deer in headlights.

I’ve said it before. We really need a good QB brought in. Beat McDonald out, Bridge the gap, or take over for injury. God forbid McDonald goes down, we are doomed as-is. It’s Not my opinion or evaluation… simply no one else here can do what is required of our QB/offense by SL.

6’3” 310 lbs. Played in the first seven games and I believe missed the rest of the season with an injury. Seems like a solid addition. 640 lbs of OL added the last two days.

Why would BG need to find another QB rogue? Playing McDonald with injuries is part of the built in excuse.

UC lists him as 330 pounds on their roster. Did we have any starting OL even close to that big this year?!

Also, he comes from Mount Carmel HS - where Jalen Grant is from. That should be a good add in terms of chemistry.

With him redshirting in 2019 and 2020 not counting towards anyone’s eligibility, is he a 4th year sophomore with 3 years (counting 2022) remaining on his clock?
Yes, looks like he would have 3 years to play

I'm still concerned that even with the additions...we aren't replenishing the losses we have experienced on the OL
