No ESPN+ cast of the game? ESPN sets the probability of a BGSU win at 99.8%
It doesn’t appear that there will be a TV broadcast. The coverage of the team this year has really been lacking - we’re on ESPN3 more than ESPN+, and we’re not told what the channel is until a few days before the game, if at all. In seasons past, we had an idea of what channel each game would be on, including the fact that essentially each and every home game would be shown on ESPN+.
If the reason there’s no broadcast is because there aren’t students to help with it because they’re on break, that’s very disappointing. And to me, that better not be the case for MAC games starting next week. We’re a division I athletic program - every game should be available to watch in some capacity.
The MAC's s**t ESPN contract gives ESPN full control over which avenue the game is broadcast on (ESPN3 -vs- networks -vs- ESPN+). I'm not even certain how much notice the school receives on which platform it'll be sent on, so obviously not sure how much notice we can receive.
It also puts the schools on the hook for producing and uploading the games. Most of the MAC seem to rely on students to do that work, which I'm not sure is necessarily awful, but it does put you behind the 8 ball during breaks. Seems the kids should be treated as employees and expected to remain in BG for these games.
I, too, would hope like hell they manage to at least get the Akron game on a stream. I'll be at the game, but conference games should certainly all be broadcast.
