If I read the information right, it appears game 1 will be available on like 12 of the Bally channels (Ohio Plus, though, because of the Cavs game) on Tuesday. And it sounds like they’ll be on Bally Ohio’s primary channel on Wednesday.

Here’s hoping we get a win and can play for a trophy on Wednesday night!

This is a really good tourney for BG to play in. Good competition on a neutral site. Even if they play a down Yale team, it’s still more interesting than playing a non-conference series against an Atlantic Hockey opponent. Interesting to see how they do coming out of break.

Agreed. I wonder why there aren't more tournaments like this in college hockey. College basketball has a million of them with pretty good success and I think that hockey could draw a few more TV eyes to their mid-season games by doing more of these.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Even being between Christmas and New Years, the place will be a cavern.

Providence scored in the first 90 seconds.

With how often we give up odd man rushes, it feels like there’s something structurally wrong with the way we play hockey.

And 90 seconds later, Providence had a breakaway chance that we were fortunate to stop because Stoever made a nice play.

What are we doing wrong? Someone with more hockey knowledge than me - explain what we do that allows the other team to blow past us and get behind us every game. Is it really just because we’re so aggressive on the forecheck? And if that’s the case, what adjustment can we make that doesn’t totally change our identity?

After a Providence goal, BG gets one back on the PP.

Taylor Schneider’s shot squeaks through and it’s 2-1 Friars.

And Barber nets a nice goal. BG had been pressing hard in the last few minutes.

2-2 with 5:04 to play in the first.

The first 2 Providence goals were both mistakes by our defensemen. On the 1st play Lloyd pinched in and came up empty then Wozney played the 2 on 1 incorrectly. On the 2nd goal Malstrom got caught on the wrong side of the puck and let the pass from behind the goal line be completed. Our D are young and make mistakes.

End of One: BGSU 2, Providence 2

A weird period of hockey, where we looked both awesome and terrible at times. And now the audio has cut out from my Bally Sports Detroit feed, so I’m hoping they get that figured out by the time intermission is done.

Keep it going, Falcons.

Give up a late goal because we can’t clear the puck. Outplayed them all period and end up down a goal.

Late goal from Providence puts us down. Another thing that has plagued us is late goals.

Still alive. Still frustrating.

Our backside D coverage is just horrible and has been for most of the year. Its bad enough Scardina got out muscled on the puck, but then we just stand around on the backside and let their guy just pop one in untouched. Like I said earlier our defensemen just make a ton of mistakes.

It doesn't matter how many shots you out shoot somebody by or how much you out play them by when you give up Grade A chances at the other end.
