Status of Ball State Game

Post by Falcon Fryed »

I am thinking about taking the family down to Muncie on Saturday for the game.

Has anyone heard anything about the status of the game?

While BG specified in their release that Wednesday’s game was postponed due to COVID issues at Akron, Ball State’s release didn’t specify whether they had COVID issues or if the issues were in NIU’s program. NIU’s release also didn’t specify.

So… hard to say. BG should be good to go, but we don’t know about Ball State. And obviously, things can change in an instant. I guess the best course of action would be waiting until after noon tomorrow to make the call? I know that’s late, but it’s entirely possible there isn’t an announcement until after morning shootarounds tomorrow, if there is one.

I would say good chance it gets played. Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Akron, and Ohio are the schools most likely to pause. I believe Northern put women's team on pause also, and was the leader in initially canceling the 2020 football season.

It appears that the game is good to go, so we’ll use this as the game thread.

6:00pm tip on ESPN3.

Halfway through the first half, BG leads 22-13.

Samari Curtis has scored 8 in a row for BG.

Man our entire offense this far is just throwing anything at the rim and owning the offensive glass.

Can't say I'm a big fan but you'll win a lot of games dominating the offensive glass this way.

Couple of free throws for plowden put us up 54-50 with 12:00 to play

BSU has been forcing Curtis to the left all night. I guess that's the scouting report on him.

I'm just not seeing what Metheny contributes out there.

Plowden has looked out of control or indecisive in his runners to the basket.

Turner with 2 bad shots late.

These announcers can't say anything right. Why do they even try?

That’s the worst display of officiating I have ever seen. You can’t possibly ask for anything more from our guys. That was eight on five.

Huger just showed why he should have never ever ever ever been given a raise or an extension. Just pathetic coaching. Thanks again Bob Moosbrugger.

Brutal down the stretch. Fouling a 3 point shooter. Falling out of bounds. Failing to box our on a missed free throw. Man...bad loss. Yeah, both of those calls could've gone either way, but they didn't, and we didn't make any plays.

Real disappointment was that Gordon and Curtis had done well down the stretch up until those major gaffes.
