BG wins, 82-75.

That was way harder than it needed to be, but that was a heck of an effort to get back in it late and pull it out.

10-9 overall, 3-5 in the MAC.

Both teams tried to give away the game at the end. Luckily bg was up when the fouling started. Escaped with a win and now a huge game with Eastern on Tuesday to get back in tournament position

Only the top 8 make the tournament. The three Michigans and Northern Illinois stay home unless Bowling Green underachieves to that level.

Thats crazy. I had no idea. We haven't been that bad I guess in recent years. Must be good coaching.

Yeah they typically had home site games for the teams that didn't get a bye to Cleveland.

With COVID they eliminated the first round making it an 8 team tourney all in Cleveland.

Personally I'd be in favor of giving a bye to the champ and only 6 teams to Cleveland. The tourney is a great event and so much fun to watch, but what's best for the conference is making sure the top teams win the tournament every year.

I'm not sure it was all COVID. Obviously the move happened at the same frame, but I had heard the ADs pushed for it because teams HATED hosting those games... as often the host school weren't 100% sure they would be hosting said game until 2 days before and they were a pain in the ass to put together, and the conference got the revenue (not the school) because it's a tournament game.

I think it's a win for all sides. Puts more emphasis on the regular season.

I do like the fact that the bottom four teams are out.... no way should a MAC bottom feeder have an opportunity to knock off the better teams in a playoff. Also, guarantees a spot for a mediocre team like our own to make the little dance.
