BG QB Situation
Learned today that Labronz is done. Not sure if he is just hanging it up or will enter the portal? That leaves us with literally no one game ready should McDonald go down.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Good thing they have spring practice and fall camp between now and UCLA, at least.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:35 am Learned today that Labronz is done. Tucker Melton needs to step up his game. He was brought here to be the next guy (or compete with Keller for it, anyway) so he needs to take a giant leap forward this off-season or we'll be in trouble.

Did Davis ever get put on scholarship?
Maybe Loeffler offered one of the P5 walk ons one and Davis decided to leave the team.

Re: BG QB Situation
Since Tucker Melton seemed ahead of Labronz on the depth chart, I'm not seeing cause for panic here.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:35 am Learned today that Labronz is done. Is there any connection between this and the arrival of Camden Orth from Long Island University? (Just thinking out loud here.)

Re: BG QB Situation
I wouldn’t call it panic, but we are down one more QB option, that knows what to do should necessity put him in. This offense clearly takes time for a QB to be proficient in their eyes. 2019 we only had Loy after he replaced Wade, then Wade was injured. We are in same boat today.

Re: BG QB Situation
We have one QB the staff trusts. MM broke his hand last year and they still played him even though Melton had a couple of years in their system. Given that...I'm not too optimistic that a guy with less of a HS resume than Melton or Keller is going to walk in and learn the offense well enough to play in a few months
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I get what your saying, and it may be accurate as to his talent ceiling, but it is also hard to transfer anywhere with no film.Tony4BG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 3:42 pmKeller went to TiffinFlipper wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 3:08 pm We have one QB the staff trusts. Re: BG QB Situation
Yes...I know...I was referring to last year when our starter had a broken hand.Coming out of HS...Keller and Melton were both more highly ranked and widely recruited (multiple D1 offers). Neither was able to push McDonald...why should we think a guy with little recruiting interest and a less than stellar year at LIU will?Tony4BG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 3:42 pmKeller went to TiffinFlipper wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 3:08 pm We have one QB the staff trusts. Ahhh okay. I actually thought someone said his hand was hurt last year and year before was his shoulder. I can’t keep up with all his injuries.
Re: BG QB Situation
I meant to mention this the other day, but yes, he'd done. If you remember he entered the portal a year last year but withdrew and returned. But he was buried on the depth charts and this was one of those right move all the way around.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:35 am Learned today that Labronz is done. GO BG!!!
Re: BG QB Situation
The McDonald injuries tend to get announced at season's end as a way to justify the terrible record. Why he continues to play injured in games in which BGSU is fully eliminated, I have no idea. Probably because exposing what the future might look like will make future trips to the moon less likely. Thankfully, Scot only won 4 games the right way. The BGSU Football team of 2027 will be so much better for it.

I know...his most consistent trait is getting injured.
