The MAC season is obviously not going the way we hoped thus far, but watching Myron play so well again last night caused me to take a look at his Game Logs. We haven't been discussing him, but he's really turned into our best and most consistent guard over the past few weeks. Over our last 6 games he's been in double digits each time, averaging just over 14ppg while shooting right at 50%. Also averaging 3.6apg with only 7 turnovers total over that stretch.
Consistency at the guard position has been a major issue for us as this season has gone on, but it's nice to see Gordon turning into a real nice bench player. One who's really giving us more than our starters in many instances.

I think Metheny getting hurt and the minutes getting cut down for Young and O'Neal have been hugely beneficial for the team. Not that I want to see Metheny hurt, by any means, but there were just too many players and not enough minutes to go around. I think cutting it to a 9-10 man rotation has done wonders for Gordon, Matiss, and Reece in getting the offense in a better position to run semi-functionally.

I was a big critic and worried that Gordon was bad for the culture but now he’s slowly becoming my favorite player. The kid just plays his butt off and gets under guys skin. During games he looks for coaching where before he had a terrible attitude about being coached. If this team can turn things around he may be the key factor to the reversal.
