@ Central Michigan (2/1)

Post by mbenecke »

On Tuesday, February 1, our Falcons (11-10, 4-6 MAC) head out on the road to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas (3-13, 2-3 MAC). The game will begin at 7:00pm and it will be available to stream on ESPN+.

CMU has a pretty abysmal record this year, but they did challenge themselves in the non-conference by scheduling Gonzaga, Missouri, Xavier, DePaul, and Kentucky. In MAC play, they do own a somewhat significant win over Kent State.

This is a game we just have to have. BG is ranked 228 in the Kenpom, while CMU is 329. I understand that it's a road game and that's always tough, but we absolutely must do whatever it takes to emerge from this game victorious. This is a battle between 7th and 8th in the MAC, so it's one we have to have if we have any dream of still getting to Cleveland for the MAC tournament.

Go Falcons! Beat CMU.

Average talent and a below average coach. I guess check back in two years when we hire another deadbeat coach?

CMU’s record is much worse than their talent. They played a whopper of an OOC schedule.

That being said, BG is so much more talented and it even losing at half is embarrassing.

Anyone else notice that CMU’s court looks terrible? It’s more scuffed up than a gym at the Y. You can even see the scuffs on the unpainted parts. Seems weird to me.

Down by 10 with 8:00 to go as CMU is on an 12-0 run. Pathetic

CMU is 3-13 and blowing us off the floor.

Man… something has to change. And it needs to happen immediately.

This is just brutal basketball. Making CMU look like a powerhouse. What are we even doing?

I think what really hit me is how I thought we actually played ok Saturday but couldn't really get anywhere. Now when we don't play to our best we're losing badly to the bottom of the barrel.

Team just isn't good. At all.

When Myron Gordon gets going he is the best player on the floor. Gotta figure out how to fit him in better.

They are bad and it’s not just the coaching.

It's definitely not just the coaching. Roster construction isn't good, and we have serious issues at several positions.

Gordon has gotten hot, scored 13pts in like 3 mins. If we can get some stops he can single handedly get us back in the game.

Gotta replace Mills with Gordon going forward, right?
