Bitching about the officials is fine, but it comes off as sour grapes. Rarely do you win or lose games because of a call or two. Might happen once or twice in a season and it almost always evens out. We can look back at the Ohio State game where the officials gave BG every chance to win the game as evidence is doesn't always go against them.
The refs have a tough job and I'm sure BG has earned somewhat of a reputation with the officials if players are getting 10-minute misconducts game after game. Those guys talk and they know who and want to watch out for. To me, it's on the players and coaches to adjust and understand there's probably a little bit of a bias going against the Falcons, and you need to be careful about what you say and how you play, and things will probably start to improve.
Such a tough job they decided this didn't deserve a second look? There's no argument he didn't see numbers the whole way.

Oh man… that’s a dirty hit. You can clearly see him decide he’s going through with it well after the puck is away.
How would that look if the hometown boy got 5 and the gate?
I was in Section A, surrounded. I will admit I didn't know who hit him, and didn't see it live because I was watching the puck (caught a glimpse of the replay and figured out who). Between the sound, and the player laying on the ice it should have been enough to say "let's look at this again." A coach should not have to ask for a review on a hit like that.

Proves my point though. Obviously there's a reason why it wasn't called or reviewed. I have no doubt BG hockey has a poor reputation amongst CCHA officials and they're judged unfairly based upon it.
We don’t get calls because we’ve earned our bad reputation. I wouldn’t say we’re a dirty program, but I think we have a lot of borderline plays in basically every game. We need to clean that up over an extended period of time to change our reputation among officials - and what will the cost be, if we lose our physical edge as a program?
Not related to our season, but perhaps our program:
Alex Cavallini, daughter in-law of BG legend Gino Cavallini, is starting in net for the USA women this morning as they play Finland in the Olympic semifinals.
The university has agreed to let RSO broadcast games again on 88.1. They restarted this past weekend at Tech. Not sure why it took so long, was a braindead decision to begin with.

They originally claimed the money used for the play by play broadcaster had to be moved to the Flo production due to the additional cameras the CCHA required. Also there was no person to take over for Ryan.
Never made much sense given the attention brought by Everett Fitzhugh over the summer. Should have been a fairly easy approach to find some donor money.

BGRSO and the department 100% had someone in place to take over Ryan. The department ghosted BGRSO at the end of the summer until close to the hockey season then went 180 degrees in the other direction.

Don't doubt that a bit. Was just going off what was said at the beginning of the season.
I ran some figures this morning. For us to lock up 4th we need a minimum of 2 wins...BUT...one of those wins must come on the road at LSSU. If we sweep Northern but the Lakers win out we end up in 5th. Lakers visit the Fighting Rico's this week. Go Tommies.
We're also still in the running for third. With a Minnie State sweep of the beavers, we'd either need to win out or get 3 wins and help from the tommies.
