Yikes, you’d think a guy with a college degree would read the first post.

Not a great look, but he’s just kinda being honest. It’s not what we want to hear, but I think it’s clear that this team plays that way. They don’t take nights off, per se, but they definitely try harder some nights compared to others. That really needs to change for us to become competitive against the better teams in this league again - hopefully, tonight was a step in that direction.

I’d be more worried. Team doesn’t compete very well against good teams. This is how it happened after Jerry left.

The team didn't become completely uncompetitive until Coach Ward went full time to the football team. Yes, they struggled record wise, but they were in every game, and were competitive. Teams didn't just come in and roll over them. After Ward left was a different story. The team has never gotten back to what it was before he left. Nobody dared taking a period off. If it seemed like you weren't giving 100% every time to stepped on the ice, you paid a price.

There were other issues I'm not going to get into. I was there, in person, for all of Buddy's years but his last. I'm not there now, so there's no way for me to compare it to what's happening now.

What you're seeing now is a product of a lot of new players, a long term injury to an upperclassmen, a new assistant coach, new league administration, and the going ons in the world. The reality is, a split the next two weekends, against the two teams directly behind them in the standings, will probably clinch a first round series at home.
