I got the opportunity to talk to the ticket manager a lot during that era. I believe, based on those conversations, the department was operating under the assumption that wins cured all problems and forgave non-BG acceptable behavior. They found out differently and the house of cards collapsed. That night in the bar was the last straw and lead to a change beyond Jans along with some gross mismanagement going out the door.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Yep, and had they shown Hughes the door soon after BGSU athletics would be in a much better place today. Instead he got to hire the football coach after the Jinks disaster. Same could be said for never hiring Moosbrugger at all. An alum who quit the team he played at BG.

Screw it. Why not offer Mr. Reece the job?

Probably because a coach needs a bachelor's if not a Master's degree. It shows you're smart, I guess.

If BG doesn't make the MAC tournament remember this game. Reece wasn't at the game. He wasn't going to start, so he didn't go on the trip. They just left him home.

Toledo Blade reporter was in Mt Pleasant that night but decided not to report why or decided not to ask why Reece wasn't at the game.

Do we know this for certain? I'm pretty sure he was out because of COVID - at minimum, I know he missed *a* game because of that (maybe not this one), as Huger addressed it in a postgame presser.

But yeah... I like Crisan, but I feel like the amount/quality of coverage has really dropped off since Nick P left the Blade - not that it was a massive beat to begin with.

Reece, along with several others, missed Toledo game on January 15th followed by playing just 11 minutes vs. Akron on 01/20. He started 01/29 vs Kent did not make trip on 2/1 vs Central , and has not started but played every game since.

Is there anyone who wouldn't choose Reece over Huger for this team?

I know for a fact all the missing players have not all been about covid. I think there is a real culture problem and infighting happening. Probably why we don’t really look like a team out there. Just a bunch of individuals trying to get this season over.

My guess is mass exodus at the end of the season and one more awful season with this coach. We could all be surprised with a buyout at the end of this season but I doubt the money is there to make it happen.

I also doubt Lightfoot ever steps on campus this summer.

If it's not COVID, what is it? Is there something specific that happened or just general unhappiness?

Reece was pissed he wasn't going to be starting. He didn't make the trip to Mt. Pleasant. He hasn't started since. Who told who they weren't going to Mt Pleasant, I don't know. Not Covid related at all.

The Blade acknowledged he was not in Mt. Pleasant and chose not to report or ask as to why.

Was Fulcher in Oxford on Saturday? I know he didn't play, but don't remember if he was on the bench.

Interesting note, there doesn't have to be a buyout if there is another position within the University open that he is qualified for. They owe him his contract dollars, but he doesn't necessarily need to be coaching to get them.

Moosbrugger should have to pay half of the money himself for the idiotic extension. Give them Co-Director titles at the Student Rec Center and find a new AD and basketball coach.

I would love to see the BG admin lock the Frack money until we get an AD and are ready to offer a new coach.

If they're not going to use it for the buyout, I'd like to see them just let it roll into the endowment as well.

Of course that means they'd have to find the money to properly operate the program instead of stealing mr. Frack's money, so I doubt it happens.
