It does seem to illustrate the risk of using the portal, and maybe why some coaches resist it. Some of the players in the portal are there because of maturity or character issues.
This has a similar feeling to it like the last year of Brandon's tenure with the football program. It's evident the program needs a new direction and voice.
All we need now is for Huger to start hollering about how fans didn't show up for the Buffalo game, and that's why the Falcons lost.

Why again did Anthony Stacey leave Hugor's staff?

That's the question that probably tells so so much. Something didn't add up at the time, and it stinks even more today. I do remember a verbal altercation between Huger and then assistant Louis Rowe back in first season. Rowe went on to be an unsuccessful (43-85) head coach at James Madison where he played.

Without having seen a single Whitmer game I'd gamble that they have better coaching than we do.

C'mon fella. Maybe they both had two strikes against them or were on double secret probation before last night's game, but there's no way Huger said "I'll play these guys tonight & then kick them off the team tomorrow." As Schadenfreude said, it could be any number of things. There could have been an incident in the locker room after the game last night, or before practice today, or any number of things. Huger may not be a great coach, but he's not gonna use players & then throw them away like Kleenex.

C'mon fella, maybe they actually had three strikes against them and giving up 112 last night was the fourth strike. Maybe allowing 112 combined with the double secret probation is what caused it. No, it's more likely Huger is embarrassed and covering his own ass.

Finally something we agree about. Thanks for the reminder, comrade - they play in 5 minutes.

Too bad you have such an axe to grind re: Bob, Kit, etc. You could have brought something to this board if you weren't so angry & were a little (well, a lot) more clever. Farewell, old friend. See you at the Rec Center.

None of us have a clue why these guys were let go from the team but it clearly feels like a desperate move by a coach who admitted last night he has no more ideas. When in doubt start shaking up the roster.

But here's the thing, the biggest issue on this team is lack of effort on defense. We just let 2 key bench players go while starting guys like Diggs and Curtis who have yet to play a single decent defensive possession on the season.

We haven't been a team all year. Gordon scores but it's off fast break wild layups (good amount go in) and some threes. The team has reached pinnacle disaster and it's no surprise. Curtis and huger seemed to be at odds last night also so I would love to know what happened in the locker room post game. Knowing how everything works I'm sure there was a huge blow up after the game last night.

Huger has proven he isn't a good coach and bringing in all these new players ended in a culture collapse which probably wasn't helped with his lack of direction and offensive system. Early in the year it looked bad and losing makes everything worse especially when you keep getting blown out. Fire huger tonight.

Wish I still had my inside sources

We know there was a blow up last night. It might not all have been last night but it's been clear all season there is tension within the players. I don't think it was desperation but the relationships went beyond repair after another horrible performance. We can't play dumb here

Very interesting they put out an article announcing the dismissals. Usually the BG way is removing them from the roster and not tell anyone. Something big must've happened for them to do this.

Wreaks of essentially insubordination. No other reason to kick guys off the team now instead of after the season if there were things said or done that were directed at Huger or others on the coaching staff.
