Or worse. I'm not saying it is worse, but insubordination is kind of the minimum here.

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
I can't think of a time a player was publicly kicked off like this, here or at any university. The language in the team website article makes it sound like the reason was something common (booze, academic cheating, or the like), but the fact there's an article at all makes it interesting.
Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
I would assume that this decision involved multiple events with maybe one final incident or issue that finalized the decision. It’s actually kind of sad. I don’t think Huger is a good coach and I don’t really enjoy watching his teams play outside of the MAC tourney run a few years back. (I thought the team competed really well during that stretch and had some toughness).
My issue is with Moosbrugger and the general direction of BG athletics the last 12-15 years, in particular the treatment of the once successful baseball program.
I feel bad for the old school Falcon fans. Basketball used to matter…even with the team not making a tourney, the games were entertaining and the atmosphere was fun. Now you go to the games and there is no one there and I can count on one hand the number of times the Stroh center had even a touch of the feeling Anderson Arena had.

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
You can only imagine there was a blow up after this game. How could there not have been? This organization is a dumpster fire all the way down to our clock operator. It’s an embarrassment.
Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Much like Huger didn’t read the room last year when he was “a candidate” for the Fordham job, I’m not sure he did so here either. You’ve got a couple of players and a parent who aren’t going to go quietly I’d imagine.
How much research do you think Huger and staff did on the transfers? Seriously. Do you think anyone on the staff had previously recruited Joe Reece or Myron Gordon? I remember a quote from Huger early in the season where he said he was shocked by Reece height in person when he got to BG. Did they do any research? We know Curtis & O’Neal had connections to Wright from high school. Huger is going to play the poor me the transfer portal got bad guys card, because it’s his only out to save his job. I doubt much research was put in at all and I doubt either had a lot of better options before committing to BG.

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Reece's dad goes off on Twitter...Reece is gone within a week. Gordon ....the five or so times I saw him play ...had the "F this...I'm getting mine" approach to basketball but you let 90% of the season play out before you address it.
None of this makes sense

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Gordon’s mentality was that from the beginning. Any tape you have probably seen of him has to be him playing this way. He could score 15 to 20 for any team and do it in his sleep. He wasn’t going to play defense either just like Diggs doesn’t. He got benched early on for it, then it was embraced when Metheney went down and the nights Curtis stunk. Now, with 5 games left to go in his career he is tossed. Does he get the Dylan Frye opportunity to come back, or because the season is lost he is gone forever?

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Gordon's probably our best overall guard but even against Buffalo (i caved and watched) when we were down 100 points he was laughing it up having a good 'ol time talking with Segu during Free Throws. Whether or not that attitude is just a snowball effect from Huger's general lack of passion and easy going personality, pretty obvious he had one foot out the door.
I'd just like to publicly state that I was so insanely wrong on this team's outlook this year. I'm not shocked Huger isn't the answer at coach, we've all seen the writing on the wall for a few years now. I am however shocked that it has gotten this bad. Anyone see Reece's dad and Myron's mother commenting on the BGSU Hoops twitter page? Just all around a very strange and sad situation.

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
What's most depressing about all of this is...Moose doesn't fire him. Moose gets broomed ...new AD won't have enough time to get acclimated, fire the coach of the (arguably) second biggest sport in the department and find a better replacement...so Huger is back next season
The alternatives...they both stay...just Moose stays and he hires Huger's replacement.
Seems like we're kinda screwed no matter what happens

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Reece would have been the best player coming back. Matiss is likely done with basketball. The roster is a complete disaster. And now the coach will convince himself the transfer portal is all bad because HE couldn’t make it work. Next year will be a disaster.
Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Come someone with a Twitter please text Reece's dad or invite him here. He offered his number on Twitter in a reply to the dismissal tweet. I would but I don't have twitter

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
From the little I know about President Rogers -- and believe me, it's VERY little -- I don't think he gets rid of Moose on his own. Obviously, if someone on the Board of Trustees, or a Mike Wilcox type tells President Rogers that he needs to get rid of Moose, that changes things. But I definitely do not see Rodney getting rid of Bob on his own.

Re: Gordon and Reece Dismissed
Had a good conversation on Twitter DMs with Mr. Reece. He has signed up for a login here, but is awaiting moderator approval before he can post. I sent a PM to bassdrummin on here to approve him, but who knows. His profile says he hasn't been active here since September of last year. As far as I know he still OWNS the site, but the ads here have gotten insane so maybe he just makes some revenue off it and doesn't pay attention.
Dunno...
