Had a good conversation on Twitter DMs with Mr. Reece. He has signed up for a login here, but is awaiting moderator approval before he can post. I sent a PM to bassdrummin on here to approve him, but who knows. His profile says he hasn't been active here since September of last year. As far as I know he still OWNS the site, but the ads here have gotten insane so maybe he just makes some revenue off it and doesn't pay attention.

Oh sorry. I had hoped that he would be able to get on here and tell his own story rather than me re-posting what he mentioned to me. Of course I don't know if/when bassdrummin will get around to approving his membership either... He gave me the go ahead to share some of his thoughts here. For anyone interested, please follow him on Twitter @JamesReece007 He seems like a genuinely nice guy that just wants what's best for his son and enjoys talking basketball. He also let me know that he spoke for an hour or more with Dave Briggs from the Blade in the hopes that he'll be doing a story in the next week or so about this.


What I got from Mr. Reece is that he agrees with us all that Huger cannot coach/draw up anything in any situations.
Had a conversation they had with Moosebrugger left them thinking he's a joke.
Mr. Reece told me his son had several offers this offseason and he chose BG largely because he was aware of the tournament drought and wanted to end it.
He feels, and says that the other guys on the team as well, that Joe & Myron are being scape-goated in an effort by Huger to save his job/save face even though he is a defeated coach.
Also points out (correctly) that as rough as the year has been we're still in contention to earn a MAC tournament berth with a big game coming up Saturday and just jettisoned 2 key rotation pieces. Feels like if they end up losing Huger will use the fact that he had to jettison 2 guys late in the year as an excuse why they couldn't make the tournament.

And let them know that the reason “straight from the coaches mouth,” was he didn’t like their attitude… mind you.. Joe was never late for practice, never any altercations on or off the court! 3. Something GPA never cursed out a coach .. but his body language was poor and his “energy” .. I’m still like HUH !! I guess I didn’t know that you were supposed to be a I guess happy when you are losing games… especially the ones that you know you could have won!

Seems to be what I expected. Huger looking for a scapegoat. Much easier to scapegoat the guys not connected to Wright directly. Hopefully, he is able to join and we can ask him some questions about the recruitment and such.

I'm open to a migration. That Bowling Green board is ready to go. The owner of the site is somewhat engaged, and he would let us customize the graphics as has been done for some of the other MAC boards there (including Toledo and Northern Illinois).

They also allow users to rank each others' reputation. That functionality could help us here.

As for Grant: He is on Twitter, if that helps.

I'd rather stay here and make this place better. But if this board is an unmoderated zombie where new members are not even permitted to join because of neglect, we may need to move.

So, what Huger did was throw them off the team for giving a damn.

It's clear that this program is in a state of transition. What's unfortunate is that we don't have an AD capable of righting the ship.

We'll see a bunch of our guys hit the transfer portal, especially if the university is slow to act after the season. Will William Lightfoot want to keep his commitment to BG? How would Hugor recruit anybody if he stays on?

With this AD's record, I can't get excited about any choice he makes for a new coach.

We have a coach and AD who are both done and finished. They are just collecting checks until told to go away. This probably ends worse than Louis Orr which is truly amazing.
