He had good position, except the angle of his stick. He was trying to see the replay, because he didn't know how it went in. His stick was angled slightly upwards, which directed the puck up, over his leg. Fluke that hit just right.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:22 pm Stoever can't afford to give up soft goals like that. Just brutal.

#11 the one that hit Scardina last night? I didn't get a chance to watch the replay. They don't seem to like him very much tonight.

Take a dumb penalty, give up a bad goal.
Eigner has been preaching it all year and it’s just not getting through.

Being a former goaltender, no such thing as a fluke. It's a bad goal.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:59 pmHe had good position, except the angle of his stick. Lose the special teams battle and you'll lose most games. PPG and SHG given up tonight.
The parents last night were mentioning that the biggest issue with Eigner is the lack of accountability for things like bad penalties during practice and off the ice. Night and day compared to Bergeron. The discipline issues are a direct correlation to that.

Six straight losses to NMU dating back to last year's WCHA playoffs. Better effort tonight but still too many mistakes and dumb penalties.

Passes in skates and even when the puck is on the tape they can’t control it. Turnovers all over the place. Give up a shorty with the game on the line. Now we need to sweep in the Soo and I question whether we’ll win a game up there.

Another second half swoon. Getting old. Facing 4-5 games at Abel is going to be a big challenge.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 9:35 pm Passes in skates and even when the puck is on the tape they can’t control it. This staff needs an overhaul as it's obvious there's been zero adjustments made all season.

We’re just bad. There are bright spots and I will always love this program, but we just aren’t very good this year. Way too many stupid penalties, not enough skill. Recipe for mediocrity.
They’ve lost 6 straight games with me in the building. It’s getting hard to get excited to go anymore.
Thanks, Seniors. Go earn some more home games so you can finish your time in this building on a better note.

At least I don’t have argue with hockey fans this year that think BG is a top 10 program.
Re: vs. Northern Michigan (2/18, 2/19)
It has become pretty obvious that BG doesn’t have the correct people in charge of the hockey program or the athletic department..... we are bad in everything.
I felt they botched the hire back when they hired Eigner. However I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and him a few years. Well it has been enough time for me.... program is going nowhere fast.

It's hard to toss a coach overboard when you're playing 7 freshmen. That said, I'm disappointed we haven't seen much in the way of improvement this year. Whatever scheme they've been trying to run doesn't seem to be much of a scheme to me. Next year needs to show progress. I'm not expecting a league championship, but getting swept three series at home should not be happening.

This is exactly it. You should be playing your best hockey of the year…Freshman have played 20+ games and should be starting to show what they can do. Instead they are regressing. Eigner isn’t necessarily on the hot seat, but I’m not seeing anything to think he’s getting BG a CCHA championship. By next year I expect hockey fans will be ready to move on.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 8:21 am It's hard to toss a coach overboard when you're playing 7 freshmen. Side note, I was glad they honored Chicoine on Senior Night by playing O Canada before the game last night. That’s a nice tradition that I’m glad we partake in.
I was disappointed, though, that some fans decided to boo before it was played.
