Re: BBALL BINGO! Bingo Cards for the WMU game
I wasn't on this site at all yesterday, b/c I went to several BG events, then had to drown my sorrows after the men's game (or at least had to drink to try & forget that game). Just wanted to say I think the bingo cards is a fantastic idea.Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 12:40 pm I'm having a hard time coming up with reasons to watch our games. I WANT to watch Plowden and Diggs finish out their careers out of respect for them. But MAN is it hard.
I saw a thread on reddit where the OP was singing the praises of truly terrible cbb games. Listing the worst 10 ever from their reckoning. And it gave me the idea. Why not watch the game specifically to see the terrible crap! Better yet, make it a bingo game!!!!!
And roughly a half hour later, I have virtual bingo cards ready to go
https://mfbc.us/m/n3b4jem
That link will get you your own card - up to 30 players (it's the free version). I made 25 entries then selected a free space, too. So not every card will have every entry. The cards are randomized. So TECHINCALLY 2 could be the same, but the odds are staggeringly low.
I will be on this thread calling out things from the cards as I see them. Please join me! Call out the stuff you see. Get Bingo! Win absolutely nothing at all!!!!
But, maybe, have a bit of silly fun in the middle of a dark, abysmal season.

My favorite part was when the Athletic Dept issued bingo cards to a game during winter break without realizing it was nearly impossible to actually get a bingo since the 'O' column was all band/dance team/cheerleaders related. None of whom were in attendance that day

My favorite all timer was when the department came up with the plan to bring the Indy car driver from napoleon in to boost attendance. The driver agreed to come and sign autographs if BG donated to his foundation. I think it was $5000 dollars. Greg Christopher and the assistant AD who left to go to Wisconsin Green Bay (her name escapes me) told the staff they were anticipating a near sell out. They’d easily make double the money in ticket sales than what they’d lose in the donation. Come the day of the game there was about 500 people in the stands (this was toward the end of the Orr era). A staffer told me they came nowhere close to covering the donation…couldn’t make some of this stuff up.

Ouch, that must've been Sam Hornish Jr., won the Indy 500 in 2006 I believe.

OFF TOPIC ALERT!!!
We have two games left before we go into the "hot stove league". Lest we think that all former BGSU employees are really good, it looks like Mary Ellen failed, but it still shows she's something in the WBCA.
Well, we certainly can't discuss BGS Loser basketball. We can't fix it and our opinions don't count.
