I’ll stick with my previous comment…this program is heading firmly in the wrong direction. Maybe they should try to change the name of the league back to WCHA.
Scheutte should have been the one to get the job, but donors and the like were enamored with having an alum in Eigner run the program. Ty is a nice guy and all, but he's woefully inexperienced for this gig. The conversations I've had with people close to program have echoed those sentiments.
We've already seen the university cares more about appeasing a sect of the alumni base than it does about having a successful program. This job was a hot commodity and there was no national search done, just a phone call to Wilson and allowing the two assistants to interview. Simply brutal. Berge set up this program for long-term success and it's being thrown away because the department would rather hire a less qualified candidate who is an alum over a more qualified coach who played his college hockey at Miami.

You think Mankato sets a nice pick? Look at what Merrimack did to UNH's left defenseman on this powerplay. Brutal.
Horrible PK…yes the guy runs some interference, the weakside defenseman was just standing there. Not even an active stick to try to compete for the puck.

So you say there was interference that led directly to the goal, but it's a good goal because the PK was weak? Are you CCHA official? It's an interference penalty as defined in every hockey rulebook, at every level, worldwide. The NCAA rulebook specifically calls out "pick plays" as interference.
It wasn’t some massive pick that took the guy out of the play. He just came in and got his body in the scrum. The defenseman really made no effort to make a play either way.
Officiating is not the crisis that you act like it is.

George Bernard Shaw once said, “Never wrestle with a pig. You just get dirty and the pig enjoys it.”
For me the friends/foes list makes AZZ a better place.
