Playoffs: at Bemidji St. (3/4, 3/5, 3/6 (if nec.))

Maybe practices should start with spending some time playing on your stomach in front of the net. Not going to score many goals that way.

Decisive Game 3 tonight. This is when our season ended last year, at home against NMU. We kind of didn’t even show up for that game.
I guess we’ll find out if this team has anything left in the tank tonight.

Forwards don’t back check or pick up the third man. 3 on 2 at the start of the second and the rodents find the back of the net. Blech.

Season is pretty much over now
Bring back the glory!

Hockey down 2-0 in the middle of the second period.
Didn’t take advantage of a powerplay and it immediately ended up in a Bemidji goal, and then gave one up on the kill.
Absolutely have to fix the special teams in the off-season. I don’t know what it’s going to take, but it feels like major changes are needed.
See you in October.

Goal waived off because of an offside call.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:09 pm Hockey down 2-0 in the middle of the second period.

Barber stopped on two breakaways. Honestly, I didn’t realize after all these years that he has those kind wheels.

Barber is like zero calorie Brandon Kruse.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:14 pm Barber stopped on two breakaways. Honestly, I didn’t realize after all these years that he has those kind wheels.
He’s struggled more this year than years past (and been injured), but they have a similar small guy/speedy game. Kruse obviously the superior passer and scorer (and therefore much more productive) but that’s the comparison I’ve always had in my head.

Agree, I don’t think Kruser misses both of those opportunities.

Survived a post and a terrible turnover by O’Hara.

It’s 1-0 Bemidji after 2.
Going to need to make something happen and create our own luck in the third or it’ll be tee times and fishing this week.

Well, 20 minutes to do something. Can't say I'm too encouraged given the anemic offense.

Barber with a nice backdoor pass that Wozney nearly finished, but he got robbed.
Then, Dougherty finds the back of the net and ties it 1-1 with 12:17 to play in the third period.

Massive Bemidji flop on a play where we could’ve gotten a PP instead ends with offsetting penalties (of course) so we’re skating 4x4 here.
