If you were the Coach/AD what would you do differently?
Re: If you were the Coach/AD what would you do differently?
It looks like Juwan Howard may be available. I would gladly take a guy willing to throw a punch at another coach over our guy that thinks losing is fun.

If we’re going the “dream” route, Chris Mack is available. And Tom Crean might be, too. I’d rather either of them over what we saw yesterday…

Pretty much anyone is better than what we have now. Once Western Michigan replaces the Covid cost cutting coach they have in place in a couple weeks, Bowling Green will have one of if not the worst coach in the league. A quick look at the standings and the only teams around BG are coaches in the first year. But, this is what happens when you have completely inept people running a department, and a coach with very little self awareness. Current KenPom ranking is 264 and falling. MAC rated the worst it's been since 1997. Let's have some more fun.

What is Archie Miller doing these days?

March 1 would be a good day to announce Moosbrugger is stepping down and they are starting a search for the next AD. Be efficient and find the right candidate so whoever is coming in can start late May and be ready to start cleaning up a mess.
The 3 mens sports BG has that actually have the facilities and budgets to consistently win titles in are all embarrassing. You almost have to try to be that bad.

It’s getting to the point where both Moosbrugger and Huger need to go in order to avoid complete humiliation. One issue is that Moose hasn’t even replaced his buddy Hughes yet. I’ve been a broken record about the departments complete incompetence and this current form is years in the making. No need to replace Hughes, just replace Moosbrugger and let the new AD find the assistant. It’s time to let Moosbrugger focus on the Rec Center full time.

I believe Ryan Pedon was mentioned as a should be candidate earlier in this thread.

Hire someone who can bring some accountability back to the department in all phases and focus on reconnecting with the community.
Christopher got all this credit for getting the Stroh Center built….literally 95% of the money was donated before he showed up. Then he and Elsasser approved a floor plan that made everyone walk up 100 steps to get the the concourse and forgot to put drainage in.
Yeah that’s right….they has to spend another million bucks because they kept getting flooding on the practice court and in the locker room area. Apparently drainage needed to be connected to the water hazards on the golf course and it was overlooked.
Just hire a competent individual who isn’t afraid to demand some performance from athletic staff and coaches. Then focus on simple things like parking, concessions, referee microphones, etc.
I cannot disagree with you about Christopher getting entirely too much credit, nor enough blame.
I would also like to see them spend some appropriate funds to solve some of the on- going issues like ref microphones, mediocre concessions, etc.
Now, the Stroh. First, the drainage was always scheduled and targeted for the parking lots AFTER the building was done. It was a planned additional expense that got up to $1m because of changes that had been done to the golf course over the years that this work actually fixed. It NEVER caused flooding in the building in any way, shape or form.
Second, the forty one steps (if that is a problem, please use the elevator - that is what that is for) was done to allow the concourse and concessions to be open to the action on the floor, and keep you engaged in the game when using other facilities. You will see this at 90% of the new arenas being built, but it requires going up when you build on bedrock two feet below the surface. This is not as high as the main entrance at Gonzaga, but I guess winning impacts a lot of feelings. There are ways to reach the bowl from the lower level, but That relies on operational decisions.
Re: If you were the Coach/AD what would you do differently?
The practice court and other areas of the arena most definitely flooded multiple times before they realized the mistake and redid the drainage….anything heard otherwise is just made up by BG athletics to not look bad.
