ESPECIALLY with an ESPN timeout every series during MACtion; sitting in an empty frozen stadium in November… I always feel worse for my kid and his mates being shirtless throughout….. a faster game is welcome to me. Doesn’t alter the game.

First is that after an incomplete pass the clock would start again once the ball is placed, much like when a player runs out of bounds. This would obviously negatively impact pass heavy offenses. The second would be adopting the NFL rule of not stopping the clock after first downs. Motivation is to limit the number of plays per game to attempt to reduce injuries and keep the pace of play moving.

Be curious to see how much traction these get and if they end up being adopted.
I’d like full NFL rules, 2 minute warning and all. The pace is so bad compared to the NFL since it’s all no huddle and signals instead of a guy with a walkie talkie in his helmet

I've noticed quite a few tweets from @BG_Football from the weight room -- video of players working on their legs or whatever.

These snapshots are pretty cool. Weight rooms can be drudgery. It looks as if BGSU is trying to make it least a bit fun and put a focus on it.

Quick update - rules committee voted against any changes for the 2022 season.

I always find it funny the tv slot is always 3 hours long still like this is 1990. We know damn well this game won’t be over in 3 hours,

I agree though, I think college games go way too long.

NFL broadcasts have incorporated advertisements as picture in picture during short breaks in play in order to avoid prolonged media timeouts. CFB should explore the same. If any proposal to shorten games does not include shortening media timeouts, it is not a proposal worth mentioning IMO.

No excitement at all. Just the opposite…apathy. Another wasted year with 6th-year QB McDonald running the offense. We’ll win three games with him and have to start all over again next year…

If Briggs gets to the bottom of Loeffler’s contract, and he got an extra year too, I think people might be upset…lol

There's a press conference today at noon from Loeffler previewing spring football. I'll try to catch it on my lunch break.

Nothing too earth shattering. Still looking to add a few players which will happen in May, seemed like mostly on the offensive side of the ball. Sounds like the new additions have fit well, young kids who started on the OL last year now have some older guys to look up to and watch to better understand how to bring energy every day. Got the idea that most if not all the OL transfers will be starting, with the young kids from last year being backups to allow for more development. Can't say it's a bad idea. Depth at WR should be a plus. Most will be happy to know that this is McDonald's last year too.

Long story short, need to run the ball better so the offensive isn't throwing the ball 45 times a game, need to continue to develop the younger guys and maximize efforts in the offseason. Believes they will compete this season (God willing) and we'll see less variation in effort from game to game, even series to series.

Yeah they are going to try now. As opposed to only trying sometimes.

This quote from today's Blade is interesting:
Cory Crisan, The Blade wrote:The fact of the matter is, last year we were way too young up front,” Loeffler said. “A lot of guys were still playing that needed to be redshirted or standing next to myself watching the game and lifting weights and developing. We didn’t go down the transfer portal at that position [last offseason] for a reason. If we would have done that, what would’ve happened is you would’ve lost those young players, and the next thing you know, you can never have the ability to be old.
Coach Loeffler doesn't seem to be losing sleep over the way he used the portal a year earlier.

More self serving bullshit....we had a horrible line because they were young, but living with that is doing it the right way...now that they're experienced, we're going to bring in guys that are better and older. We didn't do that a year ago because the kids would have left. Like...they won't leave now that you're pushing them aside.

I am so sick of the nonsense that chinless bastard lays out
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Agree flipper, AND the fact that either didn’t recruit any OL their 1st year here or none were any good. They would be juniors by now..
