Western is out. Nachos start with five teams and send the same number to the Frozen Four as the CCHA. And Bowling Green remains the only MAC team to win the men’s ice hockey national championship.

Michigan only needed 40 min to put Q away. With the third period still to come, your Frozen Four is set.

That almost didn't age well.

I turned the game off after 2 then saw the score afterwards and said "Oh shite, I missed a good last 20 min."

The added day off between games really helped the talented teams out this year. Might've seen more upsets in Day 2 under the old format. Definitely going to be some fun hockey to watch in a couple weeks in Boston.

Can someone tell me why there are nearly two weeks between the rounds of the NCAA Hockey Tournament? Do they wait a week so they don't go up against the men's and women's basketball Final Fours? Or is there some other reason? I'm not judging, I'm just genuinely curious.

That's exactly the reason.

Bingo.

Also, I saw that the Minnesota/Minnesota State game is now scheduled for ESPNU due to ESPN2 picking up the Cincinnati/Atlanta baseball game.

Thanks! As someone who is interested in watching all three Final Fours (or Frozen Fours, as the case may be), it makes sense to spread them out. I was overstimulated trying to keep up with all three tournaments, as well as BGSU baseball & softball, last weekend.

Denver takes down Michigan in OT, 3-2.

Former Falcon Cam Wright scored a goal for the Pioneers and he’ll play for a title on Saturday night.

Mavs beat the Gophers handily. Cam Wright vs. Purple Cows for the hardware.

5-1 is a shellacking. Especially when you consider that Mankato has one draft pick and Minnesota had more than 12 on their roster.

Mike Hastings has built an absolute wagon. Good for him.

Goes to show what a well coached team can do. Kind of hope Hastings draws the attention of some pro teams in the offseason so he can get out of the conference. Definitely a model for programs like BG to aspire to emulate.
