Briggs is right again
Re: Briggs is right again
MAC Football has certainly gotten worse. Used to be some good QB play with some unique offenses. Now literally half the league can’t throw the ball at all. Everything has to be run/pass option because they have no chance to push it down the field.

Moos and Hugor will be back. No need to maintain hope.
BGSU has losing and apathy baked into it's DNA. I've witnessed this since the mid 80s. It's in the student body, the administration, and the community. Honestly, a lot of the older fans I see at games and hanging out in the falcon club look like weirdos. This program will never add up to dogshit, and I'm done waiting for an NCAA birth. WTF are we all doing here, anyway?

Did you hear this for certain?
Re: Briggs is right again
We all know Huger signed a secret extension last year, meaning he has 3 more years on his deal. I think we all know the likelihood of buying out 3 years of a coach from a program that has never bought out a coach in our lifetimes. (Jans fired for cause, all other coaches left on their own or were allowed to work through their contracts).
I have heard from somebody I trust that Moose also signed a secret extension tying him here for multiple years, not just the lone additional COVID year that Huger (and presumably Loeffler) received.
I've also heard that the entire Athletic Dept is getting pay bumps.
I can't corroborate the information, nor do I care to waste the time trying. We all know this fits exactly in line with how the BGSU athletic dept has been managed for the better part of 2 decades. I think we all pretty much knew Huger would be here next year when A) we have yet to hear anything a month after our season's end, B) he's using Frack money to travel and watch Plowden play in New Orleans, and C) he got an extension adding an extra year to the sum for a buyout.
Quite frankly if Moose is still here it doesn't matter anyhow because he wouldn't know a good coach if one landed in his lap. And if Moose really did get a multi-year extension then the whole thing doesn't matter because clearly it goes above him (presumably to the president/trustees).
Nobody gives a flying eff about winning at this school. Nobody cares about making BG athletics an enjoyable experience for fans. Why the hell do we still waste hours arguing amongst ourselves about what we want to happen when all anybody that has power to enact change does is just ride on the way things have always been and collect 6figure paychecks? AD at BG seems to be the cushiest job ever. Can be literally awful at nearly every aspect and make some bank.

I've not heard of any secret extension before. For Huger? It was revealed as the season was winding down that Huger got an extra year tacked on his deal when he took the COVID paycut. So sure we saved some money on his salary, but gave him an extra year (and $400k).Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 8:59 pmI've not heard of any secret extension before. For Moose? I just heard from a buddy of mine who is somewhat connected that Moose signed a longer extension as well. It's not public knowledge. Maybe he's wrong. We'll find out soon enough since Moose's deal was supposed to be up in May. If we're not shopping for ADs he's obviously been extended as well. And in reality if he did NOT get an extension it's a fairly safe bet that we would have already heard by now that he will not be retained past the end of his deal.

As BGSU begs you for money the next few days, be reminded of how your money could be spent. Recklessly without consequences.

There are many opportunities to contribute besides sending cash to the Falcon Club.guest44 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:09 am As BGSU begs you for money the next few days, be reminded of how your money could be spent. Recklessly without consequences.

Correct. I’ve supported a variety of academic and scholarship programs and have been very pleased with how it has been used.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:18 amThere are many opportunities to contribute besides sending cash to the Falcon Club.guest44 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:09 am As BGSU begs you for money the next few days, be reminded of how your money could be spent. While I would not donate to the general athletic fund, I do donate each year directly to the men's and women's club hockey programs. There are plenty of departments and programs who will put it to good use.guest44 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:09 am As BGSU begs you for money the next few days, be reminded of how your money could be spent. The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Briggs is right again
You can also donate to baseball, both operations (save baseball) or the capital (field improvement) directly thru the BGSU Foundation, that the AD or Falcon Club have very little control These are the funds that were set up by baseball alumni, friends and fans of the program.

Moosbrugger appears to have signed a Covid contract extension in August 2020. Contract now runs through June of 2024.
Here is the link. A ton of good information in here.

Congrats to Moos on getting the bag. $275k per year is wild.guest44 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 3:32 pm Moosbrugger appears to have signed a Covid contract extension in August 2020. Contract now runs through June of 2024.

Re: Briggs is right again
Good find. That is BGSU just saying “we don’t care about winning”
Under any metric Moosbrugger is a failure. He’s not getting a better job. If Rodgers is good with how athletics is being run, Moosbrugger isn’t ever leaving. Hope everyone is happy with being bottom of the barrel. Rodney Rodgers is.

Re: Briggs is right again
Over a million bucks for a completely incompetent AD to keep throwing Bill Fracks money away at mediocre coaching making a a couple million bucks.
Other than pure addiction there is zero reason for anybody to actually continue supporting this program.
