I'm inclined to think many goaltenders with great stats have good defenses in front of them.
As a former goaltender I can agree with this statement.
As a former defensemen most of the goaltenders on my teams had lousy stats.

18 PPG for a Dalton Norris this season. Sets an all time session record for the Lincoln Stars.

Haha, trust me the banter back and forth between defensemen and goaltenders will never get old.

In beer league our regular goaltender couldn't make it one game so one of the forwards who happened to have goalie pads suited up. As I stepped onto the ice I told myself that I could not allow any shots on net. So in the second period I proceeded to catch an edge while trying to deflect a shot and blew my knee out. I should have let him get drilled. Fortunately it was just an MCL sprain but I was done for the year.

Speaking of goaltenders, Western rode the hot hand this season, to the tune of 23xx minutes played. He signed an NHL contract, both sophomore backups have since entered the portal.

Wow. That's a clean sweep for them. Zero returning goaltenders next year.

They have one guy coming in next year with pretty good numbers but he's an MJHL guy. Not sure how that translates to the Nachos. There are now 19 available goalies in the portal. Looks like the NE guy is heading to ASU. Everyone else that's left was either a backup or benchwarmer. There must be some studs coming in from somewhere that aren't public knowledge yet.

If you have a subscription to The Athletic, there's a great article about Sean Walker rehabbing from his torn ACL which includes plenty of BGSU content.

Always viewed GAA as a team stat, while SV% as more indicative of how good/bad a goaltender is.

Miami forward Chase Gresock has committed to BG out of the portal. 19 points in 21 games last year for the RedHawks.

This feels like a big pickup.

He played 3 years at Merrimack before Miami, and he was a 2x captain there. 73 career points in 4 years in college.

I like it.

He played under Curtis Carr during his time at Merrimack, so there's the connection. Not afraid to get to the net and score some greasy goals.
