Yes, McMahon's blog had it mentioned. Nothing will be official until all the paperwork is completed.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:55 amOnly thing I've found was a Tweet by BGSU Hockey Fans that referenced Mike McMahon from CHN. He has a paid subscription blog that I don't have access to. My guess is it's buried in there.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:16 am
I've been looking around and still haven't seen a confirmation on this. Did I miss something?

Cam Wright puts Denver up 1. Big goal. Lots of BG mentions.

After what ESPN did last night with a Frozen Four game, I'm good with not being associated with them in any way. 100% unacceptable.

Re: Offseason 2022
Their hands were tied. Initially both games were scheduled for ESPN2, but the MLB lockout obviously pushed back Opening Day a week, and ESPN's MLB contract stipulated they had to pick up games yesterday. Lose-lose situation for college hockey.

Hockey game was over before the baseball game started. They kicked it for a pregame show. Wasn't even available on ESPN+, in English, until 5 minutes had passed in OT. They can claim their hands were tied all they want, but they weren't.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 7:50 amTheir hands were tied. ESPN+ has its fair share of issues. I thought you were speaking about the TV side of things.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 8:38 amHockey game was over before the baseball game started. Re: Offseason 2022
I understood the move to ESPNU.
A college hockey tournament game isn’t going to be as highly watched as an Opening Day MLB game. That’s just how it is.
Plus you add in the fact that it was the ring/banner/whatever ceremony for the defending World Series champions, and you understand why hockey got bumped.
Just the reality of where the college game is right now. At least it was on ESPN2 in the first place - the other semifinal was on ESPNU because it was displaced by baseball in the first place.

I called Comcast yesterday and added the sports package that has "The U" and cancelled this morning. Did the same for the regionals. I wasn't thrilled at having to pay to watch the game but what'r ya gonna do. The Man has me down.

I was watching through the ESPN app on Roku. When the feed switched to baseball, I went to find where it switched to. All that was available before OT started was the Spanish feed.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 8:46 am

Re: Offseason 2022
NCAA hockey executive committee had a press conference today. Some of the highlights:
Regional sites are here to stay for the tournament. Too many logistical issues when it comes to scheduling travel for some programs given lack of time. Rooms and such are reserved ahead of time at regional sites for hotels.
Expect tweaks next year to RPI/PWR as it pertains to regulation/OT wins. They also want to weigh road wins more than the current formula.
No talk of expanding the tournament field in light of newer programs coming in, but the discussion may need to be had in the future if more schools add or make the jump to D-1.
No talk of realignment yet with the new programs coming in, but it's a topic all the commissioners of the leagues are discussing together as expansion occurs.
Likely rule changes for next season. Most likely being adopting the NHL offsides rule (skate in the air over the blueline). Also going to discuss overtime again. Apparently it's a rule change year so expect some movement this summer. They're also going to look at potentially adopting limits on the number of players who can transfer out from each program in a given season. There have also been rumors of tampering with agents of players calling coaches asking about open spots before said player even enters the portal.

The Levi kid from Northeastern won the Richter, and Mankato’s Dryden McKay wins the Hobey.

Ashton Calder is back in the portal as a grad transfer. Three years with the Lakers, one with NoDak.

21 points this season, good for 5th on that team. Bit shocking he's transferring.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 7:12 am Ashton Calder is back in the portal as a grad transfer. Three years with the Lakers, one with NoDak.

He’s from Sault Ste. Marie. For a second I wondered if he wanted to go home, but I assume he’s pursuing a grad degree, which rules them out, right?TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 7:12 am Ashton Calder is back in the portal as a grad transfer. Three years with the Lakers, one with NoDak.

Correct. LSSU does not have a grad school.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 1:10 pmHe’s from Sault Ste. Marie.
