Can't help but wonder if Dan Bylsma's name will surface as a candidate.

Unlikely. Whitten from LSSU and Nightingale with USNDT are likely to be the two guys who get closest looks. Sparty really needs to hit a home run with this hire. Bylsma would be a big risk since he likely doesn't have many college connections.

Chris Brooks has been chomping at the bit for the last 5 years up at Tech. The only reason he took that assistant's job was because he was told the he couldn't get a D1 head coaching job with nothing but D3 experience.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

He's got the name, though. And the recruiting connections he needs are to hire assistants. It's possible if the Red Wings job isn't going to open up.

Worked well for Mel Pearson, although he may have messed that up for himself.

Personally if the Red Wings don't let Blashill go, I'll jump off a bridge. Bylsma won't be a candidate in Detroit anyways. His power play struggled when he was an assistant and his welcome got wore out pretty quickly.

I'll be surprised if Dan is interested in the MSU job. I work with his sister and he'd like to get back to the NHL in the near future.

Another transfer pickup with Merrimack connections, this time it’s D Zach Vinnell.

He had 16 points last year.

Another Carr connection I assume?

I would definitely imagine so. He was there for 3 years, and Carr has been here for 3, so I would bet Carr had recruited him to Merrimack before landing the BG assistant gig.

Dryden McKay got caught up in a doping situation at Minnesota State. Kinda crazy to read about. I can’t believe he tested positive in January and the NCAA still let him finish the season before serving his suspension.

Just wanna say I'm happy this section of the board is mostly free of the incessant repetitive negativity that exists in the football and men's hoops worlds. Might just need to keep my patronage to the hockey board exclusively going forward. It's my favorite sport and the regulars here are easy to carry conversations with.

Same. There’s only one douche who frequents this board but the block feature takes care of that. I enjoy the conversations between the 5/6 of us regulars. Wish there were more.
