Just wanna say I'm happy this section of the board is mostly free of the incessant repetitive negativity that exists in the football and men's hoops worlds. Might just need to keep my patronage to the hockey board exclusively going forward. It's my favorite sport and the regulars here are easy to carry conversations with.
Same. There’s only one douche who frequents this board but the block feature takes care of that. I enjoy the conversations between the 5/6 of us regulars. Wish there were more.
You could just use my name, TUPD, gosh.
I echo this sentiment as well. Appreciate the discourse here and wish there were more folks that liked to talk BG hockey and college hockey in general.

Dryden McKay got caught up in a doping situation at Minnesota State. Kinda crazy to read about. I can’t believe he tested positive in January and the NCAA still let him finish the season before serving his suspension.
Supplements are a dangerous game. Tough lesson to learn.
Just ask Ralfs. His game went to crap before he left for the games.
Being addicted to energy drinks myself, I've often wondered if supplements may be part of the reason the team seems to take entire periods off during games.

Theocharidis signed a PTO with Utica of the AHL today.
Additionally, Sam Craggs was left off the Walleye playoff roster. Had five points in 11 games. Hopefully he'll get another shot next season somewhere.
That's a really tough one, because he's been playing well and he would've been playing against Lukas' Cincinnati Cyclones team in the first round of the playoffs. But I guess that's the risk you're taking when you sign with the best team in the league during the last month of the season.
Mike McMahon mentioned in his blog this evening that the belief is that Augustana will join the CCHA once they begin D1 in 2023. Definitely something to watch. Apparently the university has deep pockets.

I assume we’d be ok with this if they subsidized flights?

Sioux Falls, SD... yeesh.
We made the conference make geographical sense with the CCHA reset and now we're seeing a shift to the west again.
I'd gladly sell Mankato, Bemidji, and St. Thomas to the NCHC for Miami and Western Michigan. This is starting to feel silly again. Huntsville was closer to BG than Augustana is.
Excuse me for my lack of knowledge regarding Augustana. When I first heard about them becoming a DI team I thought they had a history in DII or DIII. Very surprised to learn that isn't the case and are just now adding hockey. It appears they have deep pockets with a new $40 million stadium being built which will help attract talent.

Travel is just what a majority of fans latched onto. It was not the main reason. Having teams that couldn't say for certain they'd have a team on the ice the next season, every season, was the main problem.

Nine isn't a great number. Can we pry Miami State loose from that conference out west, or do we also go after Lindenwood?
The geography isn't ideal, but if Augustana is serious about hockey... it appears slightly closer by bus than Bemidji.
