Spring 2022

Post by roguewarrior »

First of 15 today. No pads. Practices are T-TH-SAT. Two Sat scrimmages plus Spring game 4/23. Seems Melton has taken strides and new QB Cam Orth look good enough that we might be OK if McDonald were to miss time.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Huge news. I was hoping Melton would be able to pick things up in his second (first?) "real" camp.

Do we know what time the Spring Game will be? My guess is noon based on prior years, but they also haven't really had one in a few years. I'm really hoping to come to town for it that day.

Spring game fanfare will be contingent on numbers, health and weather…. Probably won’t be set till the week of….

Fair enough. Here's hoping we get to the end of camp in good enough health.

Improved QB depth and a better, cohesive OL would be a huge step towards a winning season

Some big news out of Buffalo, Dylan McDuffie is transferring out. Over 1,000 yards rushing last season.

I would love to hear some reports out of Perry Stadium for the spring game Saturday.

I'm curious about:
-- The offensive line, obviously. I doubt it will be easy to conclude much, but any intelligence we can get will be interesting.
-- Odieu Hilaire. This Alabama A&M transfer sounds like a real stud. Will he shine?
-- Chris Bacon. This transfer from Georgia State, a safety, also sounds like a fine player, and this will be our first chance to see him.
-- The backup QB situation. I assume Tucker Melton is the No. 2. Can he step up his game and be viable if the opportunity arises for him to play this fall?

What else is on peoples' minds?

I’m curious how the offensive line’s starting lineup will look today. Would love to see what they’re thinking right now at that position, assuming they go 1s vs. 1s.

Won’t be able to make it to town today, but excited to hear about the day. Obviously it’s not an end-all be-all, but I’m hoping we’ll see some positive indications of progress today, even if it’s only a glorified scrimmage.

As far as I'm aware there is no audio or video broadcast and I'm 10 hours away. So could somebody who is going update the board on occasion?

Would like to see a well run offense personally. Not just here and there. Consistent command of an offense from what a 6 year qb is a must.

Perfect weather. Town is packed with youth soccer tournament. We are low on healthy O lineman from what I heard, so todays o line -line up may not mean much there.
