Thank you. I appreciate this level of detail, which I've never seen up close at all.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 1:47 pm Adder: they offer you, then the stall: we want to see how this Fall goes with ( your grades, your route running, your off the field X, your footwork, your weight, etc, etc)

Re: Portal 2021
WR Jaylen Smith is in the portal. Bummed about this one. He redshirted last year, but I thought he had potential to be really, really good.

Re: Portal 2021
TE Tommy Guajardo, who transferred to BG from Michigan State last year, is back into the portal. That's disappointing as he was very highly rated coming out of high school and Loeffler was excited about him coming to BG. So much for that.....

Re: Portal 2021
I also see RB Erwin Sutton, a junior with four (!) years of eligibility left, is on the portal. He did not play last year. Obviously, I'm sure we all wish him the best as he looks for a better situation.

We're getting a little thin at TE

Re: Portal 2021
Potentially the third different school for him in three years. Insanity. I hope some of these kids land on their feet. Something like 40% of those in the portal are finding their way out of their respective sport.
if I'm not mistaken, he'd also have to sit out a year since he already used his one-time transfer last year, unless he ends up enrolling at an FCS program. Aye yi yi.

Re: Portal 2021
I think someone gave Loeffler some bad intel on that one. I knew of that going in, and they found out real quick.
We have 10 more TE’s . We will be ok!! An additional WR recently switched.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

My feeling as well. The transfer portal feels like a pyramid scheme. Some players turn out well and end up as starters at their new place. Far more end up getting swept away and regret it.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 3:26 pmPotentially the third different school for him in three years. Insanity. 62% end up nowhere, I believe is the current stat.MarkL wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 4:44 pmMy feeling as well. The transfer portal feels like a pyramid scheme. Sammy Lawanson, the outside linebackers coach, is hinting he just landed somebody. (From the Dayton area?)

Re: Portal 2021
Another OL transfer is in. This time it is Cedric Dunbar from Jackson State. He appears to be an OT, it looks like he played RT at Jackson State. From what I can gather, he looks to have started 8 times in 12 games in 2021, 2 times in 3 games in 2020, and 11 times in 11 games in 2019 where he was named 2nd Team All-SWAC. He was signed in 2018 by JSU so I assume he redshirted that season. I'm assuming he has two years left. That's now 5 OL who we have added via transfer, which now offsets the 5 losses we had with Kilbane, Brown, Oliver, VanGorder and Murphy (all had eligibility remaining). On paper, without seeing any of our new guys in action, they certainly "appear" to be better additions as a whole over the guys we lost, and most of them (Robinson, Dunbar, Stewart and Warner) have experience. Mendiola is the only one who really hasn't played much. This was a year too late IMO, but as they say, better late than never. I guess we'll see...

6’5” 325lbs is a BIG dude. It seems like we’ll have one of the biggest lines I’ve ever seen here this fall.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 2:36 pm Another OL transfer is in.
