Elsasser will 100% go for it, but Rodney Rogers is really big on putting fundraisers in leadership roles, so I think he'll go with an external candidate with that background. Hell, maybe I'll go for it.

Goodness I hope not. University needs someone with an outsider perspective as AD with fresh ideas and who can really engage the alumni base in fundraising projects. Not just random phone calls and mailings asking for you to donate.

I'd be surprised if Bob doesn't jump at this. Probably an equivalent salary with a reduction in responsibilities. From a professional perspective it would probably be a good idea. IMO he'd have a better chance at getting an AD position with a big school if he puts in time as a deputy at a P5 institution as opposed to AD at podunk BGSU.

Please let this happen!

We need a new basketball coach, fundraising, operations, nil approach, and ticketing. Still possible we need a new football and hockey coach. I like a lot of the athletic department on a personal level but we need a make over. How many department employees have been here 5 years? 10 years? I know the whole operations team has been. Doesn't matter if it's the football coach or someone like Moose bg is a stepping stone and if nobody externally is offering a promotion you're not good enough

Go for it. if you got the job, which coach you firing first Loeffler or Huger?

I still think Loeffler has a chance to prove himself with this season. Huger has had plenty of years to prove himself.

Both have 1 more season at least. Nobody gets fired this summer. Beyond that it all depends on the type of hire that is made - big splash or slow & steady. Jack Gregory through present there has only been one AD that rippled the pool and we didn’t think Kingston was the right guy either. Face it our AD’s have not been inspirational leaders and I don’t see a climate in which we go that direction - too risky.

What’s the risk? The football program has never been in a worse run. The basketball program has given every coach in the last 40 years at minimum a contract extension, and the program hasn’t sniffed the NCAA Tournament in almost 60 years. Take a risk, it can’t get much worse.

They keep trying to hire "fundraisers." Hands down, the best way to raise funds is put winning programs on the field/rink/court.

Maybe with a side of improving GameDay operations to the point that it's actually pleasant to attend games?

1. Hire upwardly mobile coaches
2. Fundraiser
3. Game day experience
4. Get students and community involved
5. Hire upwardly mobile staff that makes 2, 3 & 4 happen

Probably goes into #5, but with the total blase attitude of BG athletics over the past 20 years my #1 requirement would be somebody that has never stepped foot in a BG athletics office. Somebody that will make every member of that department reinterview for their own jobs.

I would be excited if they hired someone who gave AF about actually improving BGSU athletics...from the product on the field/court/rink to the experience of the fans in attendance.

Uh oh, Washington must have actually looked at his lack of accomplishments here at Bowling Green, which includes crippling Covid contract extensions for himself and the basketball coach.
