Diarra? If he's no good will we be able to say he's the drizzling shits?

It appears the Falcons are now recruiting against the non-D1 types for players at this point. Eastern Illinois is beyond a terrible program. The worst program in D1 currently, IUPUI might have had interest here. Thankfully, Bob Moosbrugger has Covid committed an additional 400K to Hugers pocket post termination, courtesy of Bill Frack.

Alright after watching some of Diarra's play, I don't hate the pickup. He has great positioning for rebounding and receiving balls in the post. He can run the floor well and is very good at altering shots. His touch around the rim is pretty rough, and I didn't see much passing, so I don't think he'll contribute much offensively outside of rebounding and running some post plays. Basically, I think it's a net positive addition, but not one that moves mountains.

He will be on his 4th team in 4 years. Davin Zeigler was on his team last year.

We currently have 2 players that were on this team in 2020-2021. We could have up to 8 new players this year (If you include Etim who redshirted)....or more.. Who knows. I cannot even....

G Matheny Lightfoot
G Mills McComb
G Curtis Ayers Agee
F Turner Felt Towns
C ONeal Etim Diarra

Does this look reasonable or am I missing more transfers/exits?

Also I'm sure Intramural Elasser will find more PT than he deserves somewhere on this squad too

Apparently...Etim took a GSW to the chest. Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming he's out for a bit

Elsasser was among the most prominently featured player coaches at the recent hoops camp (along with Plowden, Diggs, and one of the new guys, maybe it was Felt).

Good for him. I bet he will be a good coach one day. I don't understand bashing a guy like him. He doesn't pick his playing time. This isn't a 5-3 guy who can't play basketball. and I am not speaking to Hammb although I am on his reply

I see it like this.....I am most definitely wrong somehow
1 Metheny 5-11 Jr/So 6.2p 2.8a 21.6(3%) 24.7m Lightfoot 6-0 R
2 Curtis 6-4 SR 9.5p 3r 3.1a 33(3%) 22.5m Mills 6-3 Jr 4.4p 21.9(3%) 20.9m
3 Ayers 6-5 Sr 10p 26.5(3%) 26.1m McComb 6-3 R
4 Turner 6-7 Sr/Jr 6.6p 3.6r 37.5(3%) 17.8m Felt 6-9 R Towns 6-9 Jr Xfer
5 Agee 6-8 Jr/So 20.1pg 11.5rpg 35(3%) O'Neal 6-7 SR 3.5p 9.5m Etim 6-8 Fr Diarra 6-10 Jr Xfer

I had forgotten about McCombs and am pleasantly surprised they actually filled out the roster. 8 new players if you include Etim.

Is it just the orange-colored lenses I get every year or does Lightfoot, Curtis, Turner, Agee, Felt feel like a pretty exciting starting 5?

I'd say that lineup finishes 10th in the MAC at best.

I don't disagree when you look at depth. But I still think it looks like a potentially fun starting 5.
