Anders, Anderson, Embry, and Sims are on Phil Steele's preseason all-MAC team.

ESPN calculates that Bowling Green will lead the MAC in returning production and rank sixth in the country.

A nice situation to be in, I guess.

When it comes to returning production, the question you have to ask is - is it good to return a bunch, because they’re going to develop and get better? Or is it bad to return a bunch, because they weren’t very good before?Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:47 pm ESPN calculates that Bowling Green will lead the MAC in returning production and rank sixth in the country.

My hope is the former. I really want this experiment of “getting old and strong” to work out. I’m so tired of losing football games. It’s time for BG to start winning and competing again.

Re: 2022 Season
That's not returning production...it's a percentage of last year's production. Is 68% of "meh" better than 50% of fantastic?

I wish the offensive scheme wasn’t returning.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: 2022 Season
Don't we all. UM fans were trying to run this scheme out of Ann Arbor 15+ years ago.
Re: 2022 Season
Corey Crisan is leaving the Blade to cover Pitt, so BG football appears to not have anyone on the beat at the moment, unless I’m missing someone?

Re: 2022 Season
No one at BGSU is covering athletics...so...why should the media?

For the sake of the 10 of us that still care and would read an article about the teams, I suppose.

I would expect The Blade will hire someone new or re-assign someone. (But newspapers are hurting financially so I guess we'll find out.)
John Wagner is tanned, rested, and ready!

John is a managing editor at a Minnesota paper. No more beat writing for him.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Sun Jul 17, 2022 6:46 pmI would expect The Blade will hire someone new or re-assign someone. (But newspapers are hurting financially so I guess we'll find out.)

Probably have Mark Monroe fill in. He's the Walleye beat writer and they don't begin their season until late October.

Maxwell Watch List released today. Notably missing is Matt McDonald. Surprising only in the respect that most multi-year upperclassmen starters find their way on the list almost by default.
