Is there a link to the announcement somewhere?

I saw Mike McMahon posted it on Twitter, and I saw Anton Malmstrom share Gustavo’s post on his Instagram story.

Ryan Carpenter has signed a one-year deal with the New York Rangers.

Carson Musser also signed with the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.

From Andy Strickland who covers the Blues:

One player who flashed at #stlblues prospect camp is 6'4 22 year-old Swedish Dman Anton Malmstrom. Late bloomer, spent the last two seasons playing at Bowling Green Univ. On radar of a number of #NHL teams. Lots of upside there.

Sounds like this might be his last year with us. That would leave us with zero senior defensemen next year (Wozny and Parker would be juniors). Portal time.

What do you think of the proposed NHL-style offside rule? To be onside, a player's skate can be in the air over the blue line (or touching the blue line). I'm against it on the grounds that it it's a difficult call with limited benefit. Unless positioned right on the blue line, how is a linesman supposed to judge where the vertical plane of the blue line is? (I have no idea how this has played-out in the NHL.)

Offsides is called from the blueline anyways. In theory, it should speed up reviews when necessary. In reality, it'll still take 20 minutes because "CCHA." I mean, it could be half an hour after the game ends and they'll still be reviewing it.

I'm fine with it. NCAA should be mirroring whatever the NHL does from a rules perspective, outside of the stupid trapezoid.

I know this is a touchy topic to post, but Marta Crow passed away yesterday. Many of us on here were close with her and Rick, and spent fun and quality time with her at BGSU football and hockey events. Wanted to pass it along as some people may not be active on social media.

Sad, sad day for the BG athletic community.

Really sad news. Marta was always so positive about BGSU, both in terms of athletics and the university as a whole. She will be missed.

That's a gut punch. She will definitely be missed.
