Having Bill C suggesting 5 or 6 wins is attainable is a major deal. Last time the team won more than 4 a season? 2015, right before Jinks took the team overnight from champs to doormats.

I'm sorry...five or six wins as a goal when your head coach is in season four is a pathetically, unacceptably low bar...don't want to hear anything more about Jinks...those days are long gone. The time to prove it...and by prove it be a GOOD football team on both sides of the ball ...is now.

My worry is that we'll get six wins, the lazy administration will say "ok...you can stay" and we'll be stuck with him until they get off there asses and make a change at AD
Time will tell. Expecting 7, 8, 9 wins this season is rooted in fantasy land. Non-conference schedule is tough and the league crossover games are against established programs, two on the road. By no means is this a defense of SL. He pissed away a good opportunity last year by not using the portal nearly enough to address flaws with his roster. It put this program a year behind schedule.

I dunno...I think people saying 5-6 wins would be welcome is the same as setting that as a goal.

I'm tired of seeing SL graded on a curve...it's time to show some actual success instead of the "Hey, we're trying" BS that's been foisted off on us.

Yeah, I feel ya. That's why I said I want him jettisoned for anything less than 8 wins and competing for a division title this year. No, those are not at all reasonable expectations for this program based on what we've seen in the past 4 years, but so freaking what. If the "reasonable expectation" for the program in year 4 of the SL experience is hoping and praying for 5 wins then we already have our answer.

I don't really care about COVID or new transfer rules or Mike Jinks. If you cannot reasonably compete for the worst division in the worst conference in college football by year 4 then GTFO.

Of course doesn't help that until proven wrong I will always grade SL by the curve of A) a genuinely mediocre on his best day coaching resume, and B) his offensive scheme sucks and trying to build a winner with a shitty offensive scheme is near impossible and foolish to even attempt.

Based on those odds our Vegas win total should be changing to 4 very soon.

I think people should be adding western Michigan to the winnable list. They lost a lot of talent and weren't impressive last year. Playing Kent, Miami, and western at home gives us a chance to compete for the division this year and we need to be in the race. Just need to take care of the road games against Akron and ohio. I'm not expecting much against Central or UT

My biggest concern is the QB outlook beyond this year seems bleak if this average QB always wins and keeps the job and even plays with injury because there is no one else half way capable of taking meaningful snaps.

FanDuel just posted their non-power 5 team lines:

bg 4.5
over+155
under -180

ceasars updated their bg line to 4
over -120
under -110

most other lines are still 3.5 with the over anywhere from -150 to -170

going to be interesting to see how this shapes out over the next month

I missed out on some easy cash...I knew...literally from day one... that the RedWings were going to hire Derek Lalonde as HC. Never thought of betting on it...turns out his odds were something like +1200

Another take for you degenerates out there, albeit perhaps a bit more sobering for BGSU:
