He got reps! Two hand offs and a three yard out. Quality growth in a 110 degree blowout.OptionQB wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 10:57 am There are a million cases of classes not transferring when kids go into the Portal every year. Orth getting reps? If McDonald is breathing and upright, he gets the reps that matter and most of the ones that don't. I don't see that changing anytime soon either.

All signs are pointing to Scot being a dead man walking. New AD on the horizon. Winning six games is going to be a stretch. I wonder what photographs McDonald has of Loeffler that allows him to keep trotting out there every week. Orth probably won't even stick around if that happens.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 4:31 pmHe got reps! Two hand offs and a three yard out. This take feels premature to me. We will learn a whole lot more this week and next. This was UCLA last weekend, not Cal State Los Angeles.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 6:12 pm All signs are pointing to Scot being a dead man walking. New AD on the horizon. I don't think the failure of the offense Saturday can be pinned wholly on McDonald. The Bruins were often getting some pressure on him, especially (for whatever reason) after the first quarter. That messed up the timing of some plays and it had him scrambling to the point where he just didn't see some open receivers.
Loeffler says receivers were also running out of position on some routes. And on one drive, McDonald led the Falcons deep into Bruins territory only for that poor backup center to turn it over on a really, really woeful-looking shotgun snap.
I also don't think McDonald's leash is as long as people think. If the offense struggles this badly again this weekend, I wouldn't be shocked if Loeffler makes a change.
There's no question Loeffler's seat is warm. This was always going to be a put up or shut up year. We knew that years ago. The departure of Moose doesn't help him, either. But I do think six wins are still within reach. If he does that, given this schedule, I think he'll have earned another year. At that point, it will just depend on how trigger happy (and spendy) the next AD is, if we have one (and I sure hope we do).

He's an awful HC...he will not get six wins...even if he did...mot good enough....he will be fired. McDonald is awful...he should sit...he won't, because our coach is awful

No announcement was made to anyone, but Robinson has taken every rep in practice at Center so far this week……

Re: Looking forward to EKU
Thanks for the info. Hopefully that's a good sign, but until we see something official or watch him run out onto the field Saturday, it's still up in the air. SL said they expected to hear back from the NCAA on Tuesday, but I haven't come across anything yet either. I guess we'll find out by Saturday at the latest if it's been settled or not.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 12:28 pm No announcement was made to anyone, but Robinson has taken every rep in practice at Center so far this week……

Conventional wisdom would say he's been cleared if this is the case, but this staff makes you scratch your head sometimes.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 12:28 pm No announcement was made to anyone, but Robinson has taken every rep in practice at Center so far this week……

I’m sure he thinks he’s mind banging the EKU game plan.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 1:46 pmConventional wisdom would say he's been cleared if this is the case, but this staff makes you scratch your head sometimes.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 12:28 pm No announcement was made to anyone, but Robinson has taken every rep in practice at Center so far this week……

If they cn keep Matt upright for 20-25 seconds, those deep routes will open up and we'll hit on some of those big plays. Unless the DLineman jumps and tips the ball

I’m still disturbed by the presser where he doesn’t get why there are breakdowns most plays. I know why: you have the wrong plays, at the wrong time with the wrong personnel. And maybe a couple of the Bong Teamers who fail in practice regularly, shouldn’t be out there, because you glossed them rock stars.

Re: Looking forward to EKU
Matt Mcdonald had 5 passes batted down because he still has a bad throwing motion, he still misses too many open receivers, and can't find open receivers. I think his best pass was him running around, under some pressure, and the whole crowd is yelling for him to throw it to the guy wide open on the midfield standing there waving his hands. Took him long enough where receiver ended upinjured. Saw a drive end because he threw it behind a tight end that was open 5 yards down field. Mcdonald deserves plenty of blame for the offensive issues last week. Our system doesn't help but I'm completely tired of Mcdonald
Hopefully robinson practicing with the first team is a good sign and not blind optimism

My standing assumption is that a man who has been coaching Division I college football professionally for 25 years probably knows more play calling and personnel decisions than I do.

Doesn't matter if he knows more than you, me or Frieda Falcon...what matters is this. Does he have the knowledge and skill set needed to be a successful HC at BGSU. There is zero evidence to suggest he does and a mountain of evidence to suggest he doesn'tSchadenfreude wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 10:41 amroguewarrior wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 10:22 am I’m still disturbed by the presser where he doesn’t get why there are breakdowns most plays.
