Re: BG is ranked again.......in ESPN's Bottom 10
Seriously, is nobody at the university embarrassed by this? Year after year, we find ourselves on lists like this, and I'm just tired of it.
It's just embarrassing and disappointing. We have to do something significant to get this program back on track.

The simple answer to that is NO. They aren’t embarrassed. As long as the paycheck gets deposited, they don’t care. Even better yet, it comes with free tuition and a roster spot for your kids. Although, it seems like since January when the Con Man went back to Boston, some things might be changing.

Good question. The media refuses to press the issue on this. Monday's press conference was a joke. Someone should have embarrassed Loeffler by asking if this is what a team in year 4 who should be competing for a bowl bid looks like. Instead it's stupid questions about silly narratives over the positives that he saw from a game that needs to be an easy win.

The University spends a ton on football (comparatively) and accepts such poor results. It's a mystery to me.
Anyone having any hope that Loeffler will win here should look at that press conference. He's happy with a loss to an FCS school because his QB hung some numbers on a lousy defense. Couldn't make the big play when it was needed..but damn...that stat line looked good.
Has he made any attempt to correct the egregious error re the 2015 team? Of course not....there's three things Loeffler does not currently have...a clue...a win...a chin

I think the big O line get from the portal has proven to be a bust. I thought more also on the paperwork snafu on our center, arguably the only solid acquisition: they tried to hang the other school…. Why would they put any effort into it? He is leaving there. The onus is 100% on the acquiring school to fully examine everything. Big F on that one. I think we are on 3rd center this week.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

. Probably best college game he will ever have and still can’t compete 60% of his passes. 23/40.Flipper wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 4:40 pm

I believe the only coach in recent history to not land ever in the bottom 10 was Babers. I don't think BG was in that list after the blowout loss to WKU. Consequently Babers also had the shortest BG tenure in decades. But still. BG has spent WAY too much time on that list in my life as a fan.

Of course they are trying to pin it on the other school. Don’t forget the first season when Loeffler blamed the NCAA for not allowing McDonald immediate eligibility and we trotted out another 4th stringer from Boston College. BGSU spent the majority of the this past summer without an Assistant AD for Compliance. He left under what circumstances a FOIA would be needed. The previous summer the compliance office was responsible for relaying NIL information to Kit Hughes to try to regulate. Don’t believe it’s the previous schools fault. History tells us otherwise.

Also 8th worst program according to CBS Sports. Only Ball State is worse in the MAC (7th). Eight of the bottom 25 on CBS Sports are MAC schools.
The conference sucks. FCS lite.

And there's this year's excuse..the NCAA gutted our OLine. " If we had the guys we want...Matt could have stood back there in a white linen suit and not even picked up a wrinkle, but thanks to the NCAA, all the mediocre or better defenses were just too much for us...But it's OK...Give me just a few more years and I'll Dave Clawson this bitch all the way"roguewarrior wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 5:44 pm I think the big O line get from the portal has proven to be a bust. On the bright (?) side, I don't think the excuses will work this season. Rogers firing Moose was as clear of a sign as there is that there are going to be some coaching changes. I would guess that because of buyout numbers (someone who knows more could correct me) that he won't be let go until the season is over. I think the only way he isn't let go is if they pullout 6-7 wins, pigs fly, and hell freezes over.Flipper wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 8:25 pmAnd there's this year's excuse..the NCAA gutted our OLine. Re: BG is ranked again.......in ESPN's Bottom 10
A question along those lines isn't completely unreasonable. "Coach, this doesn't look like a bowl team right now. Are you disappointed you haven't made more progress in your fourth year?" But the media's job isn't to embarrass people at news conferences. It's to get to the bottom of what happening and report the news.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 4:33 pm Someone should have embarrassed Loeffler by asking if this is what a team in year 4 who should be competing for a bowl bid looks like.
In this case, there is no real mystery as to what is going on. Loeffler said this team would be competitive in Year 4, and it is looking very much like he has failed. The morning after the game, The Blade's David Briggs had a column suggesting the Eastern Kentucky loss is probably the beginning of the end.
I actually feel some sympathy for Loeffler in that news conference. He was trying to keep selling the future of Falcon football (which is his job) despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, all while everyone in the room and on the call knows he will probably soon be out of a job.
I imagine the media might feel some sympathy for him, too.
Tough questions at a news conference might make some of us here feel good, but they will not fix Falcon football. Firing Loeffler today will not fix Falcon football. Making fun of Loeffler's appearance (as Flipper did in a recent post), will not fix Falcon football.
What we need is a new athletic director to find us a good football coach.
President Rogers is working on that, but it may take some time.

A lot of us are just tired of the charade with him. Be accountable. You gave a timetable, a timetable that he hid behind for three years in my opinion. His built in my team stinks because I said they’d stink served him and no one else. Everything is great and we’re on track. Bought his time to keep fans and media off his back. Well it’s year 4 now. Losing to fcs schools was never acceptable and definitely should not be in year 4! Year four! I want sone accountability why we don’t look like a team you said we would in year 4. This team is supposed to be Mac champs in year 5. Yea your timeline stinks and own up.

I'd be surprised if Loeffler makes it past Thanksgiving (assuming we have an athletic director by then). He will be held accountable.kdog27 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:18 pm “Tough questions at a news conference might make some of us here feel good, but they will not fix Falcon football.
