Re: @ Mississippi State (9/24)
I thought Orth played well. He has some speed on his feet and made some nice throws. And FINALLY getting Jakari Robinson was nice. Our o line looked better. And Harold Finnen Jr is gonna be a stud...true frosh from Canton McKinley. My question? Why the hell did we only rush 3 guys almost all day? We have been great at getting sacks and that Rogers kid just picked us apart cuz he had all day to throw. Very little blitzing and stunting and that was disappointing. I hope Matt M is getting healthy and of course, all the best to Coach Loeffler. That is a tough situation.
At least next week I have a 10 min drive to the Akron game....and we owe them. We gave them the game last year. Zips trail At Liberty 14-0 in the second quarter. I think BG opens as a 7 pt fave. Akron has NO game day atmosphere at all at InfoCision Stadium.
Honestly, after the first 4 games, I think we can play with anyone in the MAC.

I thought he looked pretty solid, esp getting thrown into the fire. I like him.

I don't seem much home advantage for Akron in this one, that's for sure.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 7:24 pm At least next week I have a 10 min drive to the Akron game....and we owe them. I certainly wouldn't predict us running the table. Miami and Kent State have played some pretty good football this year and Toledo is Toledo. But... maybe.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 7:24 pmHonestly, after the first 4 games, I think we can play with anyone in the MAC.
I do get the feeling this year's Falcons have made some progress.

Nor would I. But this team is better, no question. We let the EKU game get away and I honestly didn't think we would beat UCLA or Miss State. But everyone in the MAC is beatable. I think we get wins vs Akron, UB and Ohio. If we can steal 2 out of Miami, CMU, KSU, WMU and Tsun, we hit 6-6. U gonna make the trip, SF? I'll buy ya a beer. Cheers mate.

Buffalo hung 50 on EMU...that game may be tougher than anyone originally thought

And lost to Holy Cross....who is no EKU. Guess it depends on who shows up that day.

Watching Akron and Liberty on ESPN+. Start of the third quarter and Liberty leads, 14-3.

If there's a bowl game? Perhaps. It would be good to watch some football together again, Freak!Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 7:35 pm Nor would I. But this team is better, no question. I think your analysis is sound on the games where we need to really step up.

Re: @ Mississippi State (9/24)
The MAC is so unpredictable from week to week, that's where the uneasiness about BG rattling off five more wins sets in. Kent probably enters conference play as the East favorite given their offensive style and battle tested non-conference slate.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 7:39 pmAnd lost to Holy Cross....who is no EKU. The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Liberty is a solid mid major and leads 14-12. Akron might be better too

Re: @ Mississippi State (9/24)
Holy Cross is 4-0....EKU is 2-2 after losing by 11 @ Austin Peay. Our loss looks worse.
Akron hung tough at Liberty, Buffalo drilled EMU and OU edged Fordham in regulation (outscored them 21-3 in the4th qtr).
I don't see any easy games for us...preseason I lumped us in with Buffalo, Akron and OU....right now, I honestly can't say we will be favored to beat any of them, let alone Kent and Miami

Re: @ Mississippi State (9/24)
That’s impossible! Kit Hughes is at Holy Cross so they must be 0-4 and lose every game by 85 points and the entire university is aflame and crumbling into the sea!!

Not a bad showing for us given the circumstances. I like Orth and think he has potential if he learns how to make better reads and progressions. Fannin was the brightest spot and the oline held up better than expected. Plenty to improve on but we showed the pieces are there. Defensive game plan was disappointing and we're going to need them to step up if we want to win mac games.
I've been really impressed with our offensive weapons so far and if we utilize them correctly (big if) our offense can hang with anyone in the conference

Re: @ Mississippi State (9/24)
Just wait until he actually hires the football coach. He will run it back into the ground. Do I need to remind you what Kit Hughes did to the BGSU Football program since his arrival in Bowling Green in 2014? The worst run in school history.
