17-14. Akron is the only one stopping akrons offense. If they don’t shoot themselves in the foot…. It’s going to be a long day.

BG winning because of Akron mistakes.

What a gift! Muffs a fair catch at the 5! Unbelievable he even chose to field it.

That was some pretty bad football...

Was 13-7 BG at half last year. We'll see what happens 2nd half.

This is some hard to watch football. Will we ever have a great team again? Is that unrealistic in today’s landscape or are we just incapable in this athletic department? Maybe it’s a combination of reasons.

Falcons hang on. Akron made one too many mistakes but probably deserved a better fate.

Too bad we can’t play Akron every week.

We'll take the win...but this was not a good effort. Very lucky to have avoided the PI call on Anders that would have extended the Akron drive.

Has the conference really fallen this far?

Glorified FCS football. BG will get wrecked by teams who can execute better. Today was extremely sloppy and the defense did a very poor job of getting off the field on 2nd and 3rd and long situations.

The MAC is bad and we are at the bottom of the barrel. This is the design of college football. Conferences like ours can no longer compete. It’s sad. The BCS was the beginning of the end.

I thought the better team won today, but the Falcons drew too many penalties and that helped keep the Zips around.

Better Akron receivers could have made this scarier for Bowling Green, but not all teams are going to bring a quarterback with D.J. Irons' legs, either.

I'll take the win.

Buffalo, our next opponent, just beat Miami 24-20. Kent State and Ohio are tied at 24 in overtime.

The East feels wide open.
