You get blame for a loss and credit for a win! This team needs to win 4 more and they have a chance.

If four more opponents shoot themselves in the foot then we have a chance.ZuluWarrior wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 1:06 am You get blame for a loss and credit for a win! This team needs to win 4 more and they have a chance.

A win makes it easier to get another win regardless of how the previous win was won. Debbie Downer needs to take a nap for 24 hours after a win.Hammer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 3:06 amIf four more opponents shoot themselves in the foot then we have a chance.ZuluWarrior wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 1:06 am You get blame for a loss and credit for a win! Re: -6.5 at Akron
It’s fair to question the consistency of this team, at this point. I think we could win or lose every game the rest of the way, and I wouldn’t be that shocked. We’re very up and down from week to week, and that leads to a massive unpredictability factor.
It still seems like there is a path to a bowl game. That path likely includes beating Buffalo, Central Michigan, Ohio, and one other opponent. If we drop any of those games, it likely means springing multiple upsets against “better” teams, which gets pretty tough.
It’ll take a lot for this team to go 4-3 down the stretch. But as long as we’re still alive in this race, and I’m going to be rooting like hell for our guys to get it done.

This isn't a good football team...if the hope is to be good enough to eke out a few wins against horrible teams...I have to question...again...just what the hell are we doing here?

From what I saw it was 2 shitty football teams flailing madly at one another. Irons was probably the best player on the field, but dropped passes and stupid turnovers on both sides.
In recent years we've played crappy football teams and lost by double digits. It's nice to be improved enough to eke out wins against these crap teams (I suppose). We have a long way to go, but with MAC football being the garbage that it is, this team could win the east. And I don't say that with any optimism about us. I say that because the football in this conference is mind numbingly bad.

We are consistently inconsistent because of scheme…. We purposely do most position groups by committee….. running backs, D Backs and now even LB’s …. Why rotate out Anders and Horne, arguably the heart of the D?!? No, it is not situational. And Don’t let them fool you that Stewart’s departure is the reason for the RBs rotation scheme either. D line is the only group that requires rotation. Again, it’s trying to outsmart everyone.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

To be fair, could getting lots of guys playing time be a symptom of today’s transfer portal culture? Gotta get guys in the games or you lose them? Just a thought with that.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 5:06 pm We are consistently inconsistent because of scheme…. There's multiple ways to look at it. Depends on what you want the narrative to be.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 7:07 pmTo be fair, could getting lots of guys playing time be a symptom of today’s transfer portal culture? I assure you the reason is not to make everyone happy and share time. That thought is Not in the DNA of a college coach.

Was at the game...great to get the win but we could have put them away sooner. The D has been disappointing lately after a pretty good start. Take the win and get after Buffalo. If we can get another win and go into the Miami game at 2-0 MAC, it could get very interesting. Everyone is beatable this year in the MAC. And it sure beats the hell outta losing to Akron like the last two years.
