Not gonna lie, it'll be an emotional night. Marta HATED this team. Home opener against them this season is fitting.

SWEEP THE EGG SUCKERS!!!
Speaking of Marta, did they mention her tonight? I know they did earlier this season for football but thought since hockey was a passion for her they might recognize her.
They had a presentation and moment of silence before the anthem.
Glad to hear it. Thank you.

BG hanging on for dear life in this one. Spartans are a faster and better conditioned team.

We had 5 SOGs that period, they had 13. Stover is keeping us in this one.

We played well the first 10 min. We’ve played like dog s**t since.

Been chasing most of the game. The big contributors from last season have been invisible through almost four games. Burke, Schneider need to get their game figured out.

I was not expecting 16/42 SOG differential.

Michigan State forecheck was giving BG fits. Falcons basically had to use the boards to get the puck out of their own end most of the night. You're easy to defend and can control the game that way. If I'm other teams I'm watching this tape and finding the easy way to beat BGSU.

Yep. And tons of neutral zone turnovers from the trap. It was not this bad last night. Stow we played very well and kept us in it. Would have liked to see some adjustments made to alleviate some of that pressure but to be fair they were simply better than us.

A. I did not know Marta personally.
B. I do not know what her family wanted.
C. She was portrayed as a super fan and that's it. Surely she was more than that. She's in the Athletic Hall of Fame, for one thing.

Understatement! Stoever was the only player that impressed me. (Saturday was the first I'd seen our guys this season.)

I’d like to also give O’Hara some props. He had his third goal of the weekend last night, and the dude battles for the puck any time it’s near. We need a little more of that from everyone.

Same story new year.

Inconsistency is unbearable. Leaders not leading. This team could be 4-0, but we didn't want it bad enough.

Play one night, next night they'll take off. We'll finish 3rd, 4th or 5th, win about 21 games and many will be happy with that. We've become mediocre and people accept it, players included. In four games I've seen nothing to prove otherwise.

Slice the goaltender's finger open, then hack and whack at it at will when he comes back because this league is too chickenshit to actually care about "player safety?"

Hell, hack the goaltender's hand that just got stitches and laugh about it is perfectly fine. Accidently graze a player after he lingered in the crease for way too long after the whistle and it's a pissed off ref calling an unsportsmanlike on you. A real ref would realize unsportsmanlike play seems to follow the one player around ice and do something about it.

I obviously didn't see it so I can't comment on the recognition. She was certainly more than a super fan. I hope people remember her for more than that.
