Telling stats of Saturday night games thus far for 3rd periods.

We had had 3 penalties all by Seniors, one being a 5 minute Major. Two resulted in PP goals for our opponents within the last 8 minutes of the third period. One Goal was a game-winner and the other tied and Northern later won in OT.

Offensively we had had 11 shots in the 3rd Period on Saturday nights. 11 Shots in forty minutes.

Maybe some better adjustments need to be made and Falcons need more of a killer instinct.

I suspect it has something to do with conditioning. Nearly every season since 2014-5 there's been a massive collapse starting late January or early February. I'm guessing falling off late season and late game are related problems.

Strength and conditioning has been subpar since 99, when Coach Ward joined the football team full time. Those last couple teams in the 90s may not have had the most talent or team chemistry, but they could still skate with anybody at the end of a game. Still won the race for the puck, still finished checks, etc. They didn't have true goal scorers, or the ability to make the passes and shots they needed to. Since then, we've seen teams pretty much take entire periods off, sometimes more than one. It's not a recent issue.

There is a new strength and conditioning coach this year.

Not gonna lie, it'll be an emotional night. Marta HATED this team. Home opener against them this season is fitting.

SWEEP THE EGG SUCKERS!!!
Speaking of Marta, did they mention her tonight? I know they did earlier this season for football but thought since hockey was a passion for her they might recognize her.
They had a presentation and moment of silence before the anthem.
Glad to hear it. Thank you.
That was tough seeing Marta's pic up on the screen and then looking down where she used to sit every game...and not seeing her. So badly wanted a BG win Sat night. The Ice Arena will never be the same without her and she is sorely missed.

Very difficult not seeing her face around the Doyt and the Slate.
