Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
Get a jump on identifying candidates for a replacement....you can't hire a search firm and start he replacement process when the job isn't officially open .
It might be a touch early... Miami has a dual threat QB and a solid defense. If they hang another beating on us....the pressure to step aside will build a bit. If CMU trucks us and we hit six losses...pull the trigger.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Most schools won't allow you to talk to coaches under contract during the regular season.Flipper wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:34 am Get a jump on identifying candidates for a replacement....you can't hire a search firm and start he replacement process when the job isn't officially open .

You can still lay the ground work...including between gig former HC. Given the pace that this University works, they'll need some time to hire a search firm.

Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
If you are interested in trying to keep the majority of the roster together, they should fire Loeffler soon. If nothing else, maybe a new voice or someone who can open up the offense a little can help build some positives for the team.
They should have fired Moosebrugger right away in the 1st half of 2022 so they would have an AD in place for the fall. They didn’t so now they need to expedite the AD hire a little to hopefully be ready to hire a football coach by December 1st at the latest.
You keep delaying and delaying, the next coach is going to have to try to salvage a recruiting class while also playing defense against whatever talent is on campus from transferring. The result will be another 2 years of rebuilding thru recruiting.
It is the MAC East…the team is a decent coach and decent QB from being right back in the thick of it, but you have to keep your depth and underclassmen so they can develop. Use the transfer portal wisely and find a few contributors.
The formula to success isn’t difficult. You just have to work and execute it.
Step 1 - move on from Loeffler
Step 2- the right AD hired before the 1st week of November
Step 3- Hire a good FB coach by December 1
Back to the shadows…

Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
One correction. They should have let Moosbrugger's contract run out in 2020. No Rec & Wellness nonsense. At the same time, let Con Man Kit Hughes contract run out that same summer, and quit allowing him the to search for an AD position while gutting BGSU athletics. They could have cleaned out then. Football and Men's Basketball could be two years forward in this process. It would have required standards and a clue.TommyG wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 1:21 pm If you are interested in trying to keep the majority of the roster together, they should fire Loeffler soon. Let's see. The women fired two coaches. The men forced Jans out, but allowed Dakich, Orr and Huger to play out the string. I forget the sequence of events in Football after Nehlen was fired for finishing second, but Brandon, Jinks, and I hope, Loeffler are axed. It's still BG"s way to "save money" and let the contracts expire. No matter. I don't attend football games and barely follow it on radio and this will be the first year I will probably not attend men's or women's basketball. It's tough to drive two hours there and back for the men and women's games....Now, that old fashioned doubleheader might get my attention. Until then, Kent State-BG might have to me my live entertainment.

Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
Our tailgate group has been tailgating together for almost 20 years. The last 10 in Lot 13. Mitch and Rick set up their RV's and we all park around them. This year, I cannot do that. Why? lot 13 is now for FC members at the $120 level. Never mind I pony up $150 a year for season tix, and have since 1996 (and the last 5 years I should get a refund! lol). Guess that doesn't matter, though. I tried parking in lot 13 for HC and the kid would not let me in. I tried to reason with him and he said "My boss will yell at me". I was so effin pissed. I had to park in the grass across from Frickers (which is actually kinda nice...but not when ya gotta drag a cooler, grill and chairs three sections over). Meanwhile, when I went into the Doyt at 4:30, Lot 13 was 70% EMPTY. Why? Cuz FC members don't tailgate. Season ticket holders do. The person doing these stupid parking rules is Jamie Baringer ([email protected]). I wrote a lengthy email stating how the new parking rules were causing problems and pissing people off. Never got a reply. Not even a "Hey thanks for contacting us and we understand...yada yada yada". Nothing. I told her in my email it is bad enough we have empty seats but you sure as hell don't want to piss off the most loyal fans you have. So, now I am gonna send an email to Stacy Kosciak ([email protected]) interim AD. Let's see where that gets me.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 3:14 pmThis same person told those who brought RVs early to tailgate they had to leave around 8am. If I were a casual fan I'd never come to another game after that.
And this is what makes me sad....I've been going to Perry Stadium since 1984...the Brian McClure years. I was just a kid. Perry Stadium is my home away from home...my all time fave sports venue. As I mentioned, season tix since 1996. And even I don't want to go to games like I used to cuz of this bush league sheet. I told Jamie I don't HAVE to drive 2 hours & 15 minutes from Akron every game. I can watch almost every game on TV now. I don't have to spend money in and on BG. And still no reply. I thought I was in a Genesis song. Another friend drives from Cleveland every game and sets up outside the South End at 6 am. He said at the EKU game, Jamie told them they couldn't be there more than 4 hours before kickoff. He was like, WTF? "We've been doing this for years".
The Miami game will probably be my last game this season. Those mid week games are just too much anymore, starting at 7 pm. I miss half of the 1st quarter after my work day and, well, I really hate sitting in the stadium when it is so empty. And I have a trip to Germany next week and my PTO will be drained for the year. But still...I used to take days off to go to mid week games.
We haven't had a good AD since Paul Krebs, IMO. And it shows after years of incompetence. It breaks my orange and brown heart to see our athletic dept in shambles.

Good on you for reaching out freak. You've experienced exactly what I have anytime in the past. Send them anything complimentary and I have gotten a thank you. Send anything remotely critical and it's crickets. And you know you'll never see changes actually made.
The parking situation for basketball has been ridiculous for years. Now it's equally stupid for football. Arbitrary rules just because they want some sort of power trip?
I've been a season ticket holder for basketball for 20 years, was going to games at Anderson before I was in kindergarten. I'm so depressed about the state of that program I still haven't renewed for this year yet... Not sure I will. Like you said we can watch all the games on TV now. They go out of their way to make attending games unenjoyable...

"They go out of their way to make attending games unenjoyable..." And that, bro, is the worst feeling. I am tired of it. It isn't nearly as fun to get to BG as in the past. I used to speed like Andretti on the turnpike to get there as fast as I could. Now? half the time I really don't feel like going. Yeah the team stinks but it's more about the game day experience. You're right...they seem to not want to deal with fans. Too much work to do??hammb wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 9:53 pm Good on you for reaching out freak. Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
I'm basically here after this season. Didn't go to the Buffalo game since our second child was born on the 6th, but I didn't have that feeling like I was missing out like I have for past games I wasn't able to attend - score not withstanding. But I had several ticketing issues that never got resolved until the Marshall game and only got excuses in return.Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 10:02 pm"They go out of their way to make attending games unenjoyable..." The whole gameday setup sucks and the university wonders why no one shows up outside of the home opener and Homecoming. Area high schools have better gameday ops than BGSU does.

Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
FWIW,
I contacted interim AD a month or so ago questioning WHY there were no programs available. Said I understood last yr. (COVID etc) but at least make roster sheet/ 2 deep etc availabile . They DO this for party deck on a printed tag board material. So why not do same for main stadium. Even charge a buck or two wouldn’t be a problem. She obviously didn’t understand that I was saying CHARGE it. Came back with how expensive it would be if they had to do it for all sports. (Even high school games provide rosters or small programs with this team info available.) my complaint centered on the “official “ program they list online. Had 2 deep, no complete roster, no visitor roster etc. at least she must’ve listened to THAT part of my suggestion since entire BG roster was added.
WHY do we have to reach this point? I’m afraid to even contact her again wondering when BG will add safety railings at Doyt… or are they waiting for someone to fall? Better not be me or Joyce.

Re: Fire Loeffler... NOW!
It’s the BGSU athletics culture! It’s looking for retweets and likes not trying to make the experience better. It’s about stroking one’s own ego before anything (Kingston and Con Man Hughes) It’s a culture based on 13 million dollars (now 14 million) in student fees to over inflate salaries for not so talented people. It’s a culture where your kid gets to play at the D1 level even when they aren’t good enough. Jim Elsasser is the working living example of all of it. Bob Moosbrugger was a pay collecting place holder. Con Man Kit Hughes was a ego maniac that was a 7 year extension of Chris Kingston. The new AD needs to come in and do the bulldoze.

Your job is really easy when you don't give a f**k about it.
I haven't been to a game since the 1st Loeffler game in 2019 and I won't be back until he's gone...it's easier to watch at home and the lack of focus and idiotic play calling is aggravating to watch...not going to spend an hour or so driving there for that
